Metropolis. They look like a toaster. I like them.
Olivers look like toasters!
I  my Oliver. Here’s some toaster talk …
Several of the early 90s zip-top styles seem vaguely toaster-shaped to me. I made a collage of these "toaster bags" (wondering if maybe the designers at Coach were influenced by the 1986 children's book, The Brave Little Toaster.)
Starting from top left, clockwise
1. 9895 Brighton Bag 11.75 x 8.25 x 4
2. 9760 Camera Bag 10 x 7 x 2.5
3. 9087 Metropolis Zip 9.25 x 7.5 x 3.5
4. 9931 Lewiston Bag 9.5 x 7 x 3.25
5. 9902 Oliver Bag 12.5 x 8 x 3.25

My Oliver turned out to be a horrible purchase. I knew it needed work but it was beyond repair. The seller did not disclose how bad the bag was. Granted, I didn't pay much but, still. Come on! I thought the bag was taupe or putty.. Nope! After I dunked and applied conditioner it turned very dark. Not sure if it's chestnut or mahogany. The bag will probably go into the trash unfortunately.

Sorry to hear. Is the strap at least worth saving? There was a BT Oliver, it might have been the inspiration to start the WYRTB thread, it had a holes worn clean through the back, at the edge of the inside pocket, iirc. But at least the pics clearly showed what a train wreck it was.

I will be continuing my dyeing education on my two bratty ivory bags. I've learned more on this dye journey and have kept notes so when I either a.) succeed in my eyes or b.) succumb to less than perfect, I will happily share. Pros, cons, etc. I know the thought of dyeing is sacrilegious for vintage but there are times where it just needs to be done.

I can hardly wait to see your update! I've learned so much from your experiences! Please continue to share in detail! :flowers:

OMG! They certainly do!

My two vintage Ergos…the cutest little 9027 in (navy) blue and a 9020 in mahogany. All they needed was a coat of CPR then a light application of Blackrock et voila…a real testament to the enduring quality of vintage Coach.

The strap is fine, I guess I don't know what I'd save it for.

*feeling dumb* for not knowing.
