I got excited until I read the description. Thoughts?

At least it is disclosed, but I would hesitate to buy a painted bag. I haven't painted one myself yet (other than what I deem colour refreshing) and don't know what the life expectancy is of a painted finish. Hopefully someone with more experience will give more feedback.

A burnishing question for @LunaSilver.

I've watched some videos as you suggested and they mention rounding off the square edges with a beveling tool. Is that a necessary step when burnishing our Coach strap edges?

Thank you so much, LS! :hugs:
Not for coach strap edges. Sorry I forgot most Videos bevel the edge prior to burnish. Edge beveling requires skills and quality tools, otherwise the beveled edge won’t look good.
We only need strap edges to have a smoother straight finish, not to change the edge to a more rounded shape ( which works very well for oil free raw vegtanned leather, not glove tanned ).
when you burnishing, apply light pressure, but quick back and forth movement on the burnisher, it is most the heat from friction not pressure to achieve the burnished effect, but do need some pressure too.

Hi all! I have a 65th anniversary bag that gets verdigris soooo badly. Also the edge coat is off many of the bits…. Any ideas on how to help her out??View attachment 5148268
You should use a dry method to get off as much of that verdigris as you can. If you get it wet, it will stain the leather. Pick it off with a toothpick.

For edge coating, the best way is to remove all the edge coating in a damaged section, and then redo the edges. There are several products and ways to do it, none of them very easy.

Thank you Whateve! I went to work on the vertigris with the toothpick, as per your suggestion and I’m trying to figure out how to go about the edge coat issues. It looks like the edges are separating in the areas like the loops for the strap ect. This is a process….

The cheapest option of getting BR in Canada is ordering it from here:

Credit to @LunaSilver, she posted about it first & that’s how I got mine
Thanks for this! The price difference is astounding  and thanks to @LunaSilver too

burnished leather will repell dye (maybe paint won’t stick well either), I would suggest do color touch up first, burnish it after dye or paint has completely dried ( wait a couple of days).
I have an American Leather Co. bag strap end was cut (found at trift store), I already fixed the shape of cut end, glued and applied straight acrylic paint to seal the edge. Out of curiosity I used Tokonole and a wood burnisher to burnish the painted edge, it is like fine sand paper polishing, the paint became smoother and shinier, and blend into the original edge coat better.
