Im technically on a bag ban but I had to break it to go buy this purple(aubergine)/nickel hardware Janice’s legacy from a local seller! It doesn’t appear to have been used but it’s very squished so I’ll be doing a quick dunk just to reshape it. Second pic shows the colour in direct light :

I figured this was a good opportunity for me to try the style. If I don’t like it, I won’t have any issues rehoming something purple!

If you don't like the style... pick me! pick me!

The post-dunk spot fairy gave me a visit too. I was working on my grey rambler’s legacy this week & after it dried there were 3 very tiny dark spots on the front flap. I tried to fix them but I made them worse lmao

Now Im looking at pins/studs to do something inspired by coach create to cover up my mess…

I need to learn to leave things alone!

It has taken all my self-restraint not to go at my tangerine Geometric, so I hear you! My spots continue to fade... very, very slowly!

Me too! I got a glacier blue Maggie, looked great just squished. Dunked it like normal, conditioned it with cpr, next day, checked on it and spots, bag was almost totally dry within a 12 hr span so its not mildew and its only on one side. I dunno spot fairy struck again!

Oh NO! And in my favourite colour! Might still fade...

Spot fairy’s making me hesitant to dunk any more bags.. I’ve never had a problem before, but with how badly stained my jade bag came out, I would hate for it to happen again.. but I do love how dunking leaves the bag so clean and feeling new again:-s I have a taupe bag coming in soon and I’m not sure if I should dunk like usual or avoid it.

I don't think I could consider not dunking with the incredible positive difference it makes. I certainly get your hesitation, though. :hugs:

Pocket Purse British Tan from Goodwill. Had a pretty bad stain which actually came out well with a rinse. The interior is surprisingly clean. No one else bid on it I think because of the stain. 29.99 and only 2 bucks S&H.

Fabulous! I call that kind of stain a discount stain! Other buyers shy away. IMO that is an optimal outcome for BT  and a great save of a bag for yourself or to rehome!
Lol also called a Hail Mary stain. You dunk and pray it comes out!

Ergo tote done..not View attachment 5122826as well shaped as I would like...but a workhorse she is.

She looks great and I love Ergo bags, but if you are unhappy with the shape or with some slight wrinkles you can try steaming the bag. I've done it twice and I've been happy with the results.

I empty the bag and overstuff it with towels to shape it the way that I want and I put washcloths in the outside pockets (if any) to shape them. Next I hang the bag in the bathroom near the shower. I leave the shower curtain a little open near the bag and I try to keep the curtain tight closed in other areas and keep the bathroom doors shut tight. You can even put towels along the bottom of the door. You have to figure out what will work best for your bathroom.

Then I take a shower and leave the hot shower run for awhile after I'm done. Next I rotate the bag and let it steam for awhile longer, then I turn off the shower but leave the bag hanging in the steamy room until all the steam disappears. I try not to open the door very often.

Finally, I remove it from the shower but leave the towels in and keep it shaped in the desired form for a day or so before removing the towels. I don't know if this will work on all bags but I have been happy with the two that I've steamed.

My Tatum Tall Tote is one of the bags I've steamed, link below. It's not a structured bag and I don't mind a relaxed look but it had been carelessly stored and it had some wrinkles that I didn't like, but steaming took them out. Good luck!

It looks fantastic, nice job! But if you want to take it one step further, apply Black Rocks sparingly, quickly wipe of the excess, and massage it in. Then wait a day and buff with a soft brush - it should remove most of the remaining small scratches and surface variations.

Thank you both! Yeah... I thought "well it either comes out or I have to paint over it. What's the worse that could happen?" I really like taking chances on some pretty rough bags. I am big on adopting pets so I guess you can say I am an adoptive purse mama. For 30 bucks I'll take it!

I appreciate your advice @katev. I would def like to go back and work some of those scratches out. I have collected around 35 bags at this point and I am slowly working around to getting them at least through the wash and condition process. Then I plan on going back and doing the smaller detailed projects. That will def be one of them.

Successful progress on my grey rambler’s legacy that I thought I had ruined! I decided before I wasted money buying pins & embellishments to cover the front flap, Id give it one really good buff with a horsehair brush. I threw on a podcast & an hour later the marks are basically non-existent! Only a small dent remains, but Im fine with that:yahoo:. I conditioned the flap with Renapur before starting the buff.

BEAUTIFUL bag and great work! I love grey/nickel.

BK has inspired me too and I'm addicted to buffing my bags now. I haven't tried using my new horse and goat hair brushes yet, still using the coarse old one whateve thinks might be boar hair. I wonder if horsehair will be much better. My current possible boar hair really makes them glow so I'm not complaining!

This coin purse looked permanently stained from coins inside but washed out beautifully.
Before, from listingcoin purse inside before.jpgcoin purse before inside as-l1600.jpg

After. The color is even; it is the flash that is making it look lighter at the top. I'm amazed it came out so well. I expected coin staining to be permanent as I've had trouble washing it out of cloth linings. I didn't do a lot of scrubbing. Just a normal dunk and 3 coats of CPR.

I bought a boar bristle hair brush because a bunch of influencers said it was “so amazing” once. It made my hair way too shiny & I looked like I hadn’t washed it in days! so I totally believe you when you say your brush might be boar hair- it really adds a shine!
