I did a search on ebay for "Coach Replacement Button" and several poppy-style buttons popped up for sale, see the link below for an example. Just make sure that it's the correct size and color for your bag.
Thank you!!!!!!!!! Jumping on this! I found exactly the right one. Bought 2 (just in case.) :) I'm going to Las Vegas this summer, and this is the bag for that! Sparkle!

Wow, you can really find anything on ebay!

So much knowledge sharing and expertise in this thread, I’d love to know if anyone has any insights on refined calf leather and if it would hold up/have potential for rehabbing like glovetanned leather does? I can see it’s shiner, which likely indicates a coating of some sort so I’m not sure. Fell in love with a Madison bag with beautiful burnished edges, but the only Coach bags I have are glovetanned…
What Madison are you talking about? Coach has reused the name Madison many times.

Sounds like the newest one since you mention 'refined calf leather'?
Eta but then why would you rehab a new bag? Or are you talking about maintaining it to last years down the line?

You got it - this is a preemptive question because despite searching, I can’t seem to find anything about the maintenance of this type of leather! I don’t mind doing upkeep, love the patina process and want to use and love my bags, just not sure if there is knowledge about long term durability. And yes, the current Madison!

I just maintain my new Coach bags by cleaning and conditioning using the Coach set.

Some ladies on here apply paint mixed with conditioner to touch up colour loss. I feel like I've even read before that someone used a product to touch up chipped gunmetal hardware. Was it you @Teagaggle?

Eta it might be that you can't find anything on this type of leather because it's more of a marketing term than an actual type and grade of leather, which has been discussed on here before. Afaik new Coach leather is a painted split, unless stated otherwise like their new dyed bags.

When I am done using a bag for awhile, like at the end of a season, I clean and condition the bag and then stuff it with tissue and put it in the dust bag for storage. I usually keep containers of Lexol Quick Wipes on hand (Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner) to make it fast and easy to do maintainance.

There's generally no need to give a bath or do major rehab on a newer bag that has been well-treated and well-maintained.

I did a search on the forums for "hardware replacement" but didn't find an answer to this one. Does Coach sell you an individual piece of hardware? Do you need to send off for repair for a missing button cover? Or where else can it be obtained? Here's what's missing from my "new" second hand bag. The button cover embellishment. PS: This bag makes me dance with joy. It's serial number: L0969-13838

Glad you found the right type of button, I think that bag will be perfect for Vegas!

Coach released several sequin Poppy bags in Fall of 2010. Last year, right before the pandemic started, I found a Poppy Occasion Sequin Pouch (14368) in red with gold hardware at the thrift store for only $15 and it was in perfect condition (see link below) - but I've never had a chance to use it - hopefully this year will be better!

I have used all types of concoctions to fix scratches, scuffs, etc. I gave used paint & even a sharpie to touch up hardware but none if those techniques have held up extremely well in the longterm.

I got this cute colorful little patchwork canvas bag on shopgoodwill. M0649-10454. Turns out to have stains galore. Something catastrophic bad happened to this bag. Anyway, I threw it in the washing machine. Didn't help. I have one more cleaning technique I want to do (some heavy duty upholstery stain cleaner product), and my last resort20210610_084331_resized.jpg20210610_084352_resized.jpg20210610_084428_resized.jpg idea is to use fabric paint pens to draw/doodle/create art on top of the stains in complementary colors. Given the style that every little section is different, I think my added art would look like it's intended.

Maybe try oxyclean? Has anyone else tried this and can weigh in with results?

I love that you're bringing so much variety to this thread! Newer leather, fabric, canvas, siggy etc
