When my bag dried up too much but I still needed to apply CPR, I had good results from running a wet sponge over the bag to dampen it again and keep the leather absorbent.Looking good so far!! Will need some more CPR and black rocks

Just finished my United Airlines Stewardess! With how well used this bag is, I’m surprised the piping was in such good shape. All she needed was a bath and conditioning.

Finished her just in time for our road trip this weekend! I’ll be using her when we go antiquing.
I def put the first coat on yesterday when it was still fairly wet from the dunk. It is feeling really nice. When my bag dried up too much but I still needed to apply CPR, I had good results from running a wet sponge over the bag to dampen it again and keep the leather absorbent.
She must have been put through a lot when she was used by a United Airlines stewardess! She’s got a scratch on the front flap, too. I forgot I used a needle to put two coats of leather glue in all those scratches. They look deeper than they really are, but I wanted to make sure the scratches wouldn’t deepen with useNice! What are those huge gashes?!
Well, I'm getting these started later then I'd planned. I had a big test to take for grad school, focused on that for some time. Anyway, here they go! But I have a question. On the bag with the top bar thingy (I can't remember the name right now--my brain...), do y'all take that out before you dunk it? It seems like the wise choice to me, but I can't get it out of there. I got the hardware off (and it was quite gross), but that thing (is it wood?) is in there very snugly. Any advice?Okay, all, it's experiment time! I've finally got myself some renapur, and I already have BR and Obenauf's LP. I'm going to wash all these bags at the same time and follow the exact same rehab process for each until the last step, at which point I'll try the 3 different products above, all applied in the same way: by hand with gentle heat applied after. We'll see!![]()
Btw, the Tribeca flap is actually gray, not washed out black while the other bags are black. The comparison I'm looking for is shine and richness in the final product as well as ease of application/spreadability. Should be fun!

Thank you! I've got 2 of the 4 dunked and just starting to dry. I'll go ahead and dunk these 2 as well. I'm excited too. It's kinda fun doing these experiments. LolGo ahead and dunk. You don't need to remove the wooden dowel, re-inserting it is very difficult!
Have fun and can hardly wait to read about your experiences and results!![]()

Oh, it was a workout. Just regular screws though. I had to kinda wrap my fingers around the base because the screwdriver kept slipping out before I could get it at all loose. I almost scratched the leather a couple times. Even after I got it to turn, I still had to work at it. They're super tight! Those little husky mini screwdrivers helped. So cool! Can I ask, how did you remove your D-rings? I see there is a line in one side for a small Phillips head screwdriver, but mine are either super tight or I'm doing something wrong. Is it like a safety top where I need to push first or is it just a workout?
(Basically, is the D-ring is either smarter than me or am I a weakling? Not sure which will bum me out more.)
I haven't tried anything yet. (Other than dish soap with water.) I don't have the Coach brand cleaner. Do you recommend I get some?Nvm misread
In general, yes.I haven't tried anything yet. (Other than dish soap with water.) I don't have the Coach brand cleaner. Do you recommend I get some?
Oh dear... I think this Murphy might be navy blue now that it's clean, which is cool. But I think I can't sell it. Look at that cut! I don't know how I didn't see it before. It's a very clean cut, so maybe it was glued well, which I will attempt myself, but regardless, that's some bad damage. Dang it!Well, I'm getting these started later then I'd planned.
