Just my fingers actually! The clip easily opened from the middle. It was putting it back on that was a bit difficult because you have to tighten it without damaging it. I used a cloth to cover the clip and then these pliers (don’t know what they’re called lol) to clamp it back onto the strap

@Coachaddict4020's pliers are called "channel lock."Thanks for the show and tell, I have always wondered about those clamped ends.
Lol I only know that they are not needle-nose pliers. I spent about a third of my childhood listening to my father yell up from his little workshop in the corner of the basement, Who took my needle-nosed pliers??
10 years on TPF.What's the "line" that distinguishes us OGs from the Non?
It looks like it was repaired - that short piece.Aaaand here's my second rehab, another NYC bag. All went went except for the strap. I guess I didn't realize how dry it was until after the bath. I used probably 10 layers of CPR until it stopped absorbing them, but it's still stiff and has little cracks from me just bending it gently. Lesson learned - next time I'll pre-condition and dry the strap slowly, especially on a bag this old. View attachment 4815207

Ooooh that's interesting, I just looked at the other end of the strap and yeah it doesn't have the same overlap. It looks like it was repaired - that short piece.

I think it's just 1 or 2 coats but I'll defer to someone that knows what they're talking aboutWhen you Pre-Leather CPR bags - how many coats do you do? Same - till it stops soaking or just a few. I have a NYC and my United Stewardess I'm trying to up my skills before I tackle![]()
Nah. The bag is the exciting part!Am I the only one who doesnt worry if her bags dont come with a handtag?....just wondering.
I mostly don't care either. Having a "complete" bag is always nice, but there's enough fun bag charms and alternate hang tags out there to make up for itAm I the only one who doesnt worry if her bags dont come with a handtag?....just wondering.

I don't worry about hangtag either, since I don't use them.Am I the only one who doesnt worry if her bags dont come with a handtag?....just wondering.
It doesn't go into my decision to buy the bag but I like to make it complete. If I don't find a matching hangtag, I'll use a purse charm. There are some bags that I don't think work with hangtags. With those, I'll remove them. These include those with very wide straps/no hardware so no easy place to attach it, like ergos, and smaller bags in which the hangtag hangs below the bottom of the bag.Am I the only one who doesnt worry if her bags dont come with a handtag?....just wondering.
