Just purchased a coach court bag in green. See the attached pic of ink inside bag - did not leak through to outside. Im worried that if I dunk it, it might bleed to outside? Anyone have experience with something similar?

I had a BT Manor with a lot of ink on the inside and two small spots on the outside. I was able to clean most of it by soaking the interior in undiluted Basic-H before the dunk, followed by extra rinsing. The ink spot already on the outside of the bag I was not able to remove but I was able to keep it from spreading by constantly dabbing it with a paper towel to soak up the ink while the bag was wet. The two small spots combined into one bigger spot and faded and blurred a little bit but didn't go away. I did not notice that any more of the ink from the inside soaked through to the outside, I never saw more than the two spots that were already there. Of course, each stain is different so yours may or may not soak through, but that was my experience. I think other members here have experienced the ink soaking through.

I thought I had a pic of the ink on the outside before and after the rehab but I only have a pic of it before. Sorry, I guess that's not much help to you.

That's gorgeous, nice job! I have a camel willis from Costa Rica that looks a lot like this bag, but mine has nickel hardware and your bag looks like brass hardware; did the camel willis ever come with brass hardware?

I have no idea what color this is. It a touch more brown than regular camel. I wasn't aware it was brass until I received it. Since its 02 I don't have any references. I'd say it's a fawn color. Lol.

Thanks! Never heard of Basic H but just looked it up. Will it lighten the bag if I use it?

Looks great! I did buy the Willis - can’t wait to get it - I feel more hopeful now. Here’s a pic from the listing. I don’t think its too bad - looking forward to seeing the transformation

I would feel optimistic if I had bought that bag, for the marks on the right side of the flap to lift. At the very least, cleaning/conditioning will deepen the hue of the bag, lessening the appearance of any imperfections.

After 1997, all camel bags came with nickel hardware.

Side note, they offered Toffee with brass on several bags, that appear to be the classic
leather, in '98, but I couldn't find a direct reference to the Willis. Toffee does strike me as similar to Camel. I have a 2001 and 2002 paper catalog, but didn't see anything other than nickel/camel.
I had picked up a Bleeker Backpack (top stitiching) last summer at a flea market that was originally offered in Camel. It was really worn. After dunking, conditioning with CPR, it does remind me of your rehabbed Willis. I had a camel Bleeker Basket tote that was my flaming rehab fail.

It didn't lighten my Manor at all but I just used it to soak a stain on another British tan bag that I rehabbed a few days ago and it appears that there is a very light halo around the original stain, which didn't come out anyway. I'm not sure if the Basic H removed the dye or if my bag is just a lot dirtier than I would like to admit and it just cleaned the whole area. The Manor was completely unaffected, so I'm leaning toward my very much loved pre-loved bag just being a dirty girl. There is a LOT of patina on the bag, someone thoroughly enjoyed it.

I guess I will have to wait till I get it to see in person how bad it is - I hope it turns out because I have been on the hunt for a Court in green and I was able to get this one for $40 and free shipping. I can def live with the ink on the inside as long as it stays there :). I’m still new to the rehabbing but love how a dunk and conditioner can revive these bags!

That toffee is pretty. Camel is such a disappointment in my opinion. It photographs as such a pretty yellow but in person it just looks dull.

So I spent over an hour applying a mix of tube eggshell and creme blue jean Saphir to the sad trim on my periwinkle lunchbox. Now what? Eggshell box shows to let it stand and then buff, but even though I left out the cpr, it still feels like buffing it will wipe it all off. Thinking I should have gone with blue jean tube recolorant with a little eggshell mixed in. Any advice ? @valv54 ?

Agreed. The camel Bleeker Basket was actually a disappointment because of the texture of the leather. I knew that putting O's Oil on it would change the hue of the color, and I was willing to do that to soften the leather. But no go. In fact, I'll put that bag in the donate pile. It was such a disappointment on so many levels. Lol or I should just offer it as freebie to any newbie that wants to dunk a bag for dunking sake and they won't care if I cram it in a mailer envelope.
I picked up a Bleeker knapsack in rough condition last summer (it was probably camel, but you'd never guess from the condition) for $ 5 for rehab purposes (to see if a huge water stain would come out, it did) and to see it I liked carrying a Knapsack (I don't ).

I had decided to go the route of a pre-loved vachetta in like new condition, from the Poppy line if I want a lighter/camel color bag like that. They are fairly common. But for now, I need to look at my rehab pile, not listings. I literally tripped of a few rehab bags piled up next to a chair  Yeah, for real. Talk about a sign

Thank goodness I am back to hard core distancing/essential in-store shopping only (ie NO thrift shops) due to my 80 something mother's upcoming visit.
