@aerinha, at least you don't have Saddlery problems on top of it! @whateve, @Aku_no_Hana, and everyone, my very sad Saddlery is all done and ready to be carried.
I knew going in that I might have to deal with uneven color, and that's what's happening.
The bag arrived dry, scratched, distorted, pancaked and faded with very gunky hardware. She's now juicy, smooth and sheeny but remains 'dimensionally distressed' in multiple shades of brown, taupe and gray. The color is impossible to photograph true to real-life. Looking at it in passing you would probably describe it as a light warm taupe.
I didn't buy the bag for the color but rather for 'it's a Saddlery at $$ instead of $$$', so I'm not too mad. I think the worst aspect of her appearance are the indentations in the piping that won't go away. Annoyingly, those dimples are also where the original gray lingers, making them look deeper than they actually are.

Looking past those issues, OMG how cute is this style?! I want one in every color now. Everything everyone said about the Saddlery is true. She looks like the feminine and dainty version of a hunting bag. She's the lady that woos the wealthy nobleman at the ball and goes rumbling through the muddy countryside the next day. She's the Elizabeth Bennet of bags and I'm in love.
Here's a couple befores and afters with different lighting, a turnlock-tab color study, and a bonus photo of my dog who was scandalized at having a bag shoved towards her precious paws and having her picture taken.

Now I want one! Oh, and OMG, those ears! So adorable!

Thanks! Her name is Flocke which means 'flake'. Not necessarily snowflake, just any kind of flake. Still not the name I would have chosen for a big ass blue merle dog, it's more of a small white dog name. But she came from a shelter and I didn't want to change it.
She is very smart indeed, I joke that she pretty much trained herself. She's a mix of German and Australian Shepherd and exactly like how you would expect such a mix to be. Very playful, driven, easily motivated, and devastated when you're raising your voice because she disappointed you. She's also a total clown who loves to make her humans laugh with her shenanigans, even though she's an old lady now.

Love your passion about Saddlery. It is my special bag as well. My very first vintage Coach is a red Saddlery found at a thrift store years ago. It was faded from sun at top half, completely flattened with front and back panel twisted from each other. Otherwize in good condition.I never bought pre owned bags before that, was very hesitate of purchasing it, fear I would never find use of it, but I can imaging how pretty the bag could become, and it spoke to me. After that I started to google how to restore vintage leather bags, as a result I became a TPF member, and rehabed the Saddlery to almost like new condition, the color loss almost all came back with dunk and conditioning. Still I shy away from eBay for a couple of years untill late last year.

There's a couple on Ebay right now if you want to get a little spendy!
She has perfect command of those ears and uses them to manipulate male members of this household into fetching sausage from the fridge, lol! No chances with me, but left ear go flop and my bf is on his feet to offer food to her ladyship.
