re your manor bag, there was talk here when I got my manor that there was cardboard in the flap, but mine seemed to be all leather while another poster said she had the board and it warped.
I know, and I think it was assumed to be some type of leather composite. I'm not sure anymore that mine has it, while the flap is very stiff, the sandwich visible through the hardware looks like two regular leather panels to me. I might be wrong, but the leather on this one is super thick anyway.

Mine has very thick glossy leather. Very different from the leather on my other vintage bags.

Mine isn't glossy, just ridiculously thick. I love it. My glossy outlier is the black Court from Costa Rica and I'm not overly happy with it. I got the impression that people generally love Costa Rican leather, but my Court is pretty stiff and not in a great way. She scratches less easily than any of my others, but the scratches she does get tend to be more permanent. As she is black it's pretty visible and would probably have to be painted - but I'm happy to have her as my knock-around beater bag that goes with everything and is a convenient size.

So, my CPR is here and its arrival coincided with the arrival of something else. :graucho: Thanks to the gentle enabling by @aerinha, @Morgan_Bellini and @MrsGAM I am now a proud owner of a BT Manor.
The dunk had me uncharacteristically nervous, as there is definitely mystery stiffener in the flap. I ran her a lukewarm bath and kept it pretty brief.
She is currently hanging from a door handle, supported by a chair and soome precariously stacked books in an attempt to get a good handle shape going. She is a beast to shape! Pretty structured though, so maybe she can dry the rest of the way without her towels.
Here are some before photos. I can already tell that the penmarks and the dark stain at the bottom are here to stay.
Quoting my own post to report on the process. Maybe it is because we are finally getting some decent weather (around 20 degrees here in Celsius land) or maybe it was the short dunking, but she is already way more than halfway dry. I just gave her her first CPR massage, and OMG what have I been missing out on?! I have half a mind of re-rehabbing my Lexol rehabbees with CPR now. It is super easy to work with. I used my hands for the first time, and it's a lot quicker and more precise than any cloth I've used during the Lexol era.
In other news, the flap looks crisp and lovely, no warping whatsoever. I took the towels out 20 mins in and the ultra thick bindings act as a frame. She is basically shaping herself.
