View attachment 3926150 View attachment 3926149 I got my first Sonoma and I'm in love. Whateve authenticated earlier this week and I got it 2 days later. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HONEY-BROWN-LEATHER-COACH-Duffle-Sac-Feedbag-Bucket-Shoulder-Bag-Purse-4927-/253332958495?nma=true&si=WvcfysxH%252BNk5JBFcOE9dT05qbhY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

It's in great shape although there is a slight smell -- I'm just sensitive. I would like to do a dunk bc of this. There are also a few spots that I would love to get out. After reading the post above I'm not sure it's possible. I'm attaching closein photos. Let me know what you think. Thanks

These show the spots close up and now they are all gone! I just let it soak in Dawn for a few minutes and scrubbed very gently.

I would dunk it first, then glue it using Fiebing’s Leather Cement.

That bag sounds familiar....ink marks inside? I think I had that bag in my possession at one time but the ink wasn’t described in the listing so I returned.
I agree, dunk first, fiebings when dry and before conditioning.

Thank you to you both for the suggestion
@Busykitty sounds like this could be the bag - the ink marks were disclosed in the listing when I purchased it (I might try the sanding technique that @whateve suggested on the ink marks inside)

Hello everyone!
What a coincidence, I was coming to ask about how to perhaps clean or improve a couple small ink marks inside a bag I just got, not on a liner, the back side of the leather, but I remember reading horror stories about trying to clean small ink spots, that then spread even to the outside and got much worse, may I ask what is that sanding technique that whateve suggested?
Thanks in advance. BTW I have not visited for a bit and I do not see anything posted by her lately, I hope all is good.

Here is what @whateve suggested for ink marks:

Light or thin ink marks usually don't spread. When there is a lot of ink in one place, it can melt in the bath and spread. Ink on the inside can spread to the outside. I can't see the ink marks on the exterior. There is quite a bit of ink on the inside bottom. I don't think it is enough to spread but to be safe I might wipe it with acetone before the bath to see if any of it comes off. You can also lightly sand the interior ink marks. If they don't go deep, I doubt they will spread the outside.

Also would like to share something that works for me when using Leather CPR.
I find if apply CPR generously with a small portion of microfiber cloth, and keep on lightly rubbing in circle motion with the same portion of cloth, untill most conditioner is absorbed by the bag, leather surface start to feel dry and take a sheen. Then repeat this after 24 hrs. After 2 or 3 application, the leather becomes very soft with a nice shine.
These 2 bags just finished only used leather cpr after dunk.
