I was dunking a 2002 Costa Rica Stewartness bag today. It was authenciated a while ago. It had some unpleasant smell, I was hoping a dunk will take care of that. I did not expect once wet the smell got much worse and stinked up the room. It is hard to describe the ordour, sort like strong medicine musked over hint of rotting flesh. Anyone knows what is it? Thanks.
Dear lord, that sounds horrendous. Maybe some dryer sheets inside as it dries? Is the smell dissipating?

I had this bag authenticated here, my question is should the buckle 2nd photo be loose? It actually turns In circles.

I've never seen one in real life so I'm speculating here.

That bag is described as having a magnetic closure so my assumption is that the buckle is decorative.

Does the inside of the flap look like this? The buckle part should be sewn in place.

Hello all!
I recently received a red saddlery bag that needs some attention. There is a scratch in the leather where a tiny triangular piece is lifted (I have included a photo but don’t know how well it shows). E63AB1DF-BD47-400E-929D-63CD2918E186.jpeg It looks like something that would glue down easily. I wanted to know what product people would recommend. As would I glue it first then dunk or vice versa?

I would dunk it first, then glue it using Fiebing’s Leather Cement.

That bag sounds familiar....ink marks inside? I think I had that bag in my possession at one time but the ink wasn’t described in the listing so I returned. :(
I agree, dunk first, fiebings when dry and before conditioning.

Whateve authenticated earlier this week and I got it 2 days later. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HONEY-BROWN-LEATHER-COACH-Duffle-Sac-Feedbag-Bucket-Shoulder-Bag-Purse-4927-/253332958495?nma=true&si=WvcfysxH%252BNk5JBFcOE9dT05qbhY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

It's in great shape although there is a slight smell -- I'm just sensitive. I would like to do a dunk bc of this. There are also a few spots that I would love to get out. After reading the post above I'm not sure it's possible. I'm attaching closein photos. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I dunked this bag this past weekend since I was planning on dunking a vintage lunch bag that was really dirty. And the spots went away! The bag looks a little brighter and the musty smell is gone. I love the pebbles leather on Sonomas so much!
