Any ideas how to get these stains out . I have tried dish soap and warm water and Leather cleaner. But it is being very stubborn ! The one on the flap almost looks like a nail polish swipe. The one on the bottom of the bag almost looks like jean transfer ? Thanks. !

Hi Ladies,
Do any of you have tips for restoring a white bag? I purchased a white Soho flap (probably more ivory) that is a bit yellow-y in some areas.
I did a gentle scrub with saddle soap and a nail brush, but some parts are a bit more...um pit stained (haha) than I would like. I know it will be ivory and not pure white and that is ok!!
but any advice appreciated

Zit cream! Benzoyl Peroxide. https://www.amazon.com/Equate-Benzoyl-Peroxide-Treatment-Persa-Gel/dp/B00SZLFDQ2
You can put it directly on all the parts you want bleached and then put it out in the sun. I usually leave it on for more than a day, and then clean it off. If it doesn't work enough, do it again. It might be difficult to get it to bleach evenly.

Those look difficult. If it is nail polish, you could acetone but it will likely lighten the leather around the stain too. There are products designed specifically to get rid of color transfer. I've never used them but some people have gotten good results with them.

You might have to paint the bag. It is easier with pebbled bags to cover up stains without being too noticeable. I would use fabric puff paint.

Ahhhh, good idea! Unfortunately it is supposed to pour the next day or two here. However I completely understand how that would work (peroxide makes haircolor "go").
Thanks, @whateve !

I would try Bon Ami. Try it in an inconspicuous place first to make sure it doesn’t hurt anything. But it’s a gentle cleanser that doesn’t scratch, yet can scrub a little. I’ve used it to clean the rubber parts of sneakers.

Off topic, but the best thing for the rubber part of sneakers is alcohol. It works like magic.

I can't remember who it was who bought the Garcia shoulder bag when I did but I wanted to come back and post what I did to lengthen the shoulder strap. After waiting what seemed like 9 months these elongated gate rings from ebay finally showed up off the slow boat. I used the two rings I cut from my ragged Fossil purple bag and connected them with these gate rings. It looks pretty good and extended the strap to a nice shoulder length. I don't like armpit bags. The 5cm rings were $2.62 for 2 of them. I wish I had gotten 2 more since it took so long but I will order more. With the 2 additional round rings and the elongated ones I added 6 inches to the length.

Pretty color!

It kind of looks like red ink marks? The bag is mis-shapen and wrinkled so I would probably give it a bath in Dawn dish soap and warm sudsy water. While it is in the bath use your fingers to gently rub the stained areas to see if you can remove and of the marks or at least make them lighter and less noticeable.

Next rinse the bag well, allow it to drain into the sink a bit. Lay it out on a towel to shape it, stuff it with clean towels to shape it correctly and carefully lay the straps so that they will dry nice and even. Turn and re-arrange the shape of the bag periodically while it is drying.

After drying overnight, remove the towels and pull the lining out of the bag as much as possible, again lay the bag in a nice, normal shape and allow it to continue drying, turning occasionally.

When it is still a bit damp, apply a good leather conditioner (like Leather CPR) to the bag, apply sparingly, wipe off excess, and massage it into the leather. Wait a few hours and buff with a soft clean rag or a soft clean horsehair brush. Repeat the conditioning if the leather seems dry.

If it still looks dull in spots, you can apply a higher gloss conditioner, like Lexol or Leather Therapy Restorer and Conditioner. A product called Black Rocks Leather n Rich really does a nice job restoring shine but you have to apply it very lightly and wipe it off quickly then brush.
So sorry to bother you again, I went out today and I think I got everything I need. Leather CPR and black rocks as well as a horsehair brush and soft microfiber cloths. When you say give it a bath, what exactly does that entail? I've never done this before. Lol

Does anyone have advice for this beauty. I literally only paid 30 dollars for it and it's new with tags. Still smells like brand new leather. The problem is, there are red marks all over it. It looks like they tried to clean them off but didn't know what they were doing and rubbed the gloss and some of the leather color down. Any way to get the red markings off and get the color and gloss back? View attachment 4648267 View attachment 4648268 View attachment 4648270 View attachment 4648271

No bother! This is what I would try but others may have different suggestions - and if washing it doesn't diminish the red marks, and if conditioning doesn't help hide the dull patches, there may be other things that you can try.

This is how I usually give a bath to a bag. I fill the sink with sudsy water, I usually use Dawn because it is a grease cutter but I have used Ivory and other brands. I immerse the bag and stir it around, I use my finger and soft brushes (like a soft tooth brush) to scrub soiled areas. I usually only let it soak for about 15 minutes. Then I drain and rinse and soak it in clear water for a few minutes to get rid of the soap, changing the water if needed. Next I prop it to drain into the sink for awhile so that it isn't soaking wet.

I spread some old towels on a table and stuff it with towels and arrange the bag nicely, straighten the straps, etc. so it doesn't dry wrinkled. Every couple of hours I turn it over and let it continue drying. The next morning I remove the towels and pull the lining as much as possible and again arrange the bag nicely and continue to let it dry, turning it periodically. It may take a few days but when it is almost dry but a little damp I massage in the Leather CPR and let it sit for awhile and buff it with the horsehair brush. If it feels dry I may do a couple of additional applications. Sometimes thinner parts of the bag - like the straps - dry faster so you may need to condition them sooner.

When it is dry and conditioned, if the color is uneven or it has faded or dull areas then I resort to Black Rocks. Rub it in one area of the bag at a time and use it sparingly. Rub it off quickly and then buff with the brush. Move to another section of the bag and repeat. Come back later and buff with the brush some more. If you put it on too heavily it will feel tacky and a take forever to absorb. It has a strong odor but that fades.

That's all there is to it, sometimes you have to use metal polish on the hardware but that won't be a factor for your bag, but you might want to buff the metal with a soft cloth.

You probably feel like you already spent too much on this bag after buying all those leather care products! But you only use a small amount and they last a long time.

What is the series of numbers on the creed patch inside your bag? Did your bag come with a Coach Hangtag attached? If not we can advise you about getting a replacement.

Good luck!
