UPDATE on cleaning pigskin suede inside pocket on the Dakota Harvest Tote with Lincoln E-Z cleaner:

I shook the bottle of cleaner to create foamy bubbles. Then dipped a toothbrush in and cleaned the entire pocket using circular motions, didn't saturate. Let it dry and brushed with natural bristle manicure brush. I'm pleased with the result! The stains are much lighter and the pocket coloration looks more even, although a tiny bit darker, which I'm OK with.

Thanks @whateve for suggesting this!

You're very welcome! Unfortunately, it only seems to work well on pig suede, not cow suede.

Thank you for all the tips on these! I have decided I want a tophandle Madison (Biltmore or Gracie) at some point as my 'dressy' bag so these may come in handy someday. I've been using what I think is a vintage '60s black crocodile frame handbag as my ultra-dressy bag but I don't know where I last put it... guess it's been a good long time since I really needed it!
Its Hadrian has a Top Handle madison in his depop shop at the moment...think its a briefcase.

I love my little Gracie but she is tiny. I only use her when I just want to carry something small for a few basic items.

It looks like the leather was stapled!

Oh gosh, I didn't even see that.

I was wondering if it might be stitching rather than staples, like stitches holding the leather and the lining together and that had slipped out of the frame, but now I don't think so.

I found another black Lindy on ebay (see link below) and it has black lining, and they wouldn't have used lighter-colored stitching for a black bag with a black lining - and besides, the staples/stitches are irregular.

I checked my one and only Retro Lindy Bag 9003 from 1991 (see link below) and it is a golden yellow color but it also has a black lining.

I'm not sure why this poor little black bag has been stapled but it looks like a tough rehab. This might be a good bag to take to a professional leather worker (shoerepair, cobbler) to get an opinion - and perhaps an expert repair.
