I think she looks great! The color looks more even after the bath. I was planning on giving my currant Rambler's Legacy a bath before she arrived, but with the cracking on her strap after I got her (she had 2 obvious spots and 2 more that were just starting to crack), I decided not to risk it. I like the color of yours after the bath better than mine after just stuffing and conditioning.
I had small spots appear after I had been conditioning. I was very careful to have clean dry hands everytime I put a coat on her. Hoping as she ages more and softens up again they might fade. No-one else would notice them but I do.

I have semi finished the Rambler . It needs a buff and polish to make it shine. Sits better and no longer smells of perfume. But Im on the fence with it. In hindsight I think I should have just stuffed it and conditioned.
Afters on the left , befores on the right. Tried to get the lighting the same.View attachment 4601489 View attachment 4601491 View attachment 4601492
I just know there is a Rambler in my future., and yes I'm looking slightly green with envy.
I have to say every bag you rehabed looks fabulous.

Beautiful job Narnaz!!!! I love her :heart: I have one but with brass hardware. She looks nothing like yours before you rehabbed but I hope mine comes out as nice as yours did but I am not confident that she will. Any special tips or tricks you can share? Thanks!

I dont think its a trick at all...but Im really impatient to put the CPR on so I tend to start applying about 4hrs after a dunk.
I usually dunk about 8am...put a coat on before or after lunch...then another coat before I go to bed...then in the morning and another when I come home from work. I think she has had 8 coats so far.
Its seems to work for me like that so far.

Thanks for the advice Narnanz!!!! I'm always afraid to begin CPR when bag is wet since I am soooo afraid of mold! Never had that problem with any of my bags but heard of it here on tpf and sounds like a nightware!

We are going into summer here so its drying fast. ...I change to towels once...then take them out a day later and let the bag air in an open dry place.
Ive not had a problem so far but the next bag could be different.
Might be different in winter , I dont know.
I guess we all have to create a system that works for us.
I do wipe off any excess conditioner

I saw this on Instagram! It looks great. With every bag, we learn something. I've been doing this for a year and I still screw up, do things wrong, and learn new techniques.

So far so good. Still very wet, but you can see the small straps on the front are drying first, to the true color. The lining is just nice and clean now.
My purple arrived and it is in such excellent condition I only wiped down with a baby wipe inside and out. I may put some CPR on it but it really doesn't need it. What a nice bag but I could use a longer strap to carry crossbody. I was a little worried about fading but it hasn't too much.

I live in a dry climate and I've never gotten mold except the time that our power went out after I washed a bag. It was during the summer, over 100 F, so we spent the night in a hotel. When I got home, the bag I had washed was covered with mold. It was the combination of heat and wetness that caused it.

Nice! Twins! Enjoy  So I can report, even though your bag doesn’t need it, that dunking mine did not change the color or sheen of the leather. Conditioning did not enhance the areas of loss, but it was prudent given that I dunked it. Mine does have a bit of wear/distressing on the flap, on a corner of one pocket and at “corner” areas on the bottom, but it not significant. But you spent only $20 more than me for a bag in better shape, and that was not a bad deal. The sheen, does me a bit of a favor in that you don’t see the distressing as readily, especially in full fluorescent lighting like my office. My bag after dunking looks very much the same as my initial picture. I’ll take a pic later in the same lighting as my original.
I look at mine and think, it’s so grape-y! Grape soda can purple. I could think about getting a trigger snap key chain (key ring on one end, dog leash or lobster claw clasp on the other ) to extend the strap a few inches .

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I moved into the Garcia yesterday. Redwood66, you hit the nail on the head about a longer strap. I have Macgyver-ed my Carriage fob, conveniently in Antique Brass as a strap extender until further notice!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Now that is a great idea! It looks lovely!

Hopefully my brown one looks in as good condition as the purple one.
