This what my Dremel did to one of my turn locks:

This is steel wool followed by Brasso. There are still some scratches on the tip of the lock but I can't remember how I did that. I don't think that came from steel wool.

And this is nothing but Brasso on non-lacquered brass. So easy! Just rub it on, wipe it off. Magic!

Wow! You do very nice work! I'll be looking for 000 steel wool! Thank you! Looking forward to seeing your rehabs!

Purple station is done and looking much fresher. The handle, top flap and tab were almost black because I'm foolish, and it was very matte, had an almost sticky feel, and started to smell like old oil. Put leather degreaser on to pull out some of that oil, than gave her another bath. Only conditioned with leather cpr and renapur this time....no more devil oil.
ETA found a before, so after and before.

Wut. So the brighter purple is the AFTER photo?? This looks great! I have one too but it's faded. I don't want to color it though. I wish mine looked as good as your before picture! Lol.

Yep the brighter purple is the after photo. Lol. Like I said waaaaay to much obenaufs oil. Purple really dosent age well, especially when it's been used alot. Mine did look better after a bath though.

Thank you! The Willis is one of my absolute favorites too! I carry mine every day and it's perfect. I have not rehabbed any of my Craigslist haul yet and they do need it. They have gross hardware and an old basement smell. They don't smell musty though, that's good. I have a week off of work for Christmas and that's when I'll start fixing them up. I've been scared to dunk them because of their age but I have to do something with them, they can't just sit in a bin until my family sells them at my estate sale, ha ha! They have a lot of verdigris. I need to do some research before I can tackle that. Verdigris is so gross.
I'm curious, how many Willises do you have? Have you posted a group photo? I can't remember. Lol

Yeah, I think so too. I didn't realize I had so many. I think that's because both of the navy/nickels were accidents, I thought I was buying black/nickel. Then I had to buy black/nickel because that's what I was trying to buy in the first place. I bought the black/brass only because I needed the strap to go with a black Plaza that I wanted to sell but it was in such great shape and the leather was so incredibly soft and broken in that I had to keep it. In my defense, these have accumulated over a few years....
