I just couldn't get her out of my head, missed the end of auction but she was relisted, so I made an offer.
First I want to see how much of this grime will come of by dunking her. Then I most likely will scream for help and drive everyone nuts with questions.
I love the original color of that bag, I hope I can save her.

I'm picturing black water once she's dunked!

Hello all, I have a Beekman brief that has some indentations on the backside of it from storage. I've read about using a hair dryer to ease the divots out of the leather but wanted to check here first if anyone had any ideas.
I'm also in the middle of a little Rambler rehab and am wondering what people do with the leather around the turnlocks. It seems to be rather floppy. Is this to be expected or can this be addressed somehow?
And last question, how many "free" hang tags will coach send me as replacements? Or turnlocks for that matter? LOL

I believe someone recently was told they don't provide turnlocks anymore. Back when I was looking, I think the limit was 4 hangtags, but it could have been less.

Not sure about tags, but Coach doesn't send out turnlocks anymore. I hear you can get turnlocks on eBay though.

In my case, I wasn’t allowed to request any tags. Called in April for 1 and never got it. Emailed them in May and got an auto response saying tags were in high demand and my order was back ordered.

I've been waiting awhile for two tags I have requested. They tell me they will send them when they are in stock. The first time I asked for one, it arrived in a couple of days but that must have been a fluke.

Yes, I am so tactile with these bags. I have a few smooshy ones. They are my expectation. I am now less inclined to buy online, as I am waiting to see what will show up at a local flea market. So I can handle them. I picked up a mini knapsack, kinda stained, but super soft.

Ha! I have googled vintage stores in my area and found a few. I might give them a visit when school starts back up, kids are hoarding all my time this summer. LOL!

So, I got this lunch bag that I thought was either fake or painted because of the feel of the leather. It is so stiff compared to my other bags. Whateve verified it is real in the authenticate thread. So I really think it has been painted or someone said might be treated with some harsh cleaner. Seeing the edge of the strap though makes me believe more that it has been painted. It is so white and unlike the natural suede part that is exposed for uncoated edges. I mean it’s pretty, but I want it to feel good too. Does anybody have any suggestions to make it softer?

I am not one of the expert rehabbers so I am not giving any opinion on what to do, just wanted to mention that I got awhile back a brand new (with original box and paperwork), Madison Satchel 9765 made in NYC, that was stiff. Having purchased only pre owned vintage Coach before, I thought the leather when new was like that, so for yours being white and in such nice clean condition, it could be painted of course, but also hardly used?
Really nice regardless, congrats!

I think Coach is getting tired of providing hang tags and making it more difficult.

I remember a few years ago, when it was "a bad thing" to sell/buy hang tags on Ebay, people requested them from Coach directly and they made the effort to match them to the bag you were requesting them for. Then IIRC they put the limit to the 4 tags as whateve mentioned.
I guess I reached my limit (in 2 years) and was told that I wouldn't be able to ask for anymore unless I had proof of purchase. So after that I got a couple more sending them scans of my receipts, but there was no more matching.... just the golden metal ones.
When now on Ebay there are so many and the price of the most common ones is not that much, I would think they would get less requests, but maybe I am wrong. Definitely I do not ask them for tags for vintage tags, I know they will never send one that would match.

I was pessimistic, but still I am very curious how it plays out. Please post the results!
