I have been using Flitz (with corrosion protection), since I found it recommended in this thread and I love it, a tiny bit goes a long way, but it has the same drawback as other metal cleaners, if not very careful they can get on the leather and stain it.
Do this cloths leave residue too? Can you re use them? I imagine that to polish a little ball chain you do not need much.... Just wondering, always willing to increase my supplies, LOL

The cloths don't leave a white residue like Brasso, but you do need to mask off the surrounding leather because its possible to transfer black tarnish and solvent from the cloth to the leather. You also need to buff the metal afterwards with a separate, soft dry cloth or paper towel.

The cloths are re-usable, many times. I put them back in the foil envelope and seal it inside a ziplock bag. When the cloth is used it turns black from the tarnish, but a day later the black has disappeared. They are great for ball chains too. (I always soak the ball chains in straight white vinegar for ~15 minutes first.)

Thank you so much Catbird9, I will add it to my list of supplies to purchase.

Advice requested, any input welcome, LOL

I am rehabbing this Cooper Zip, that is actually in excellent condition with the only flaws being the corners to show a bit of wear. I want to use the paint+conditioner technique, but the color is true British Tan and although I have about 6 shades of brown, I do not have one that matches. Is there any color combination I could try? I am not "artistic" inclined, LOL

TIA

OMG! I just got a NYC red companion bag, in pretty good condition, but look what I found in the front pocket:sick:

If you're looking for a specific brand and color recommendation for a paint match, maybe someone here has painted a BT bag and can recommend.
