Well I dunked my Court Bag in the sink this morning. And she STINKS when wet. Is that normal? The Willis didn't have a weird smell when I bathed her. I'm leaving her in the bath for awhile lol

Sometimes when you dunk, it releases old odors. I have dunked a bag that was fine and once I soaked it, it started smelling like cigarettes smoke. I'd dump out the water, make a fresh vinegar bath and soak for 30 min and then check if it still smells.
I have a fix for shiny that might work. I had a strap that I applied Edge Kote to and it did not match the rest of the strap because of the shine. I put a thin coat of Leather Cement over it and it made it matte. The Leather Cement is initially white but dries to a clear color.
@whateve here are natural light pics. Not quiet as good a match for the leather tone as when wet but it does match up with the old edging

Has anyone tried to rehab one of the buffalo glazed leather bags from 2001? I got one from EBay, and the condition is rough. The split piping has not been disclosed by the seller, and she mailed s barrel bag in a flat envelope - you can imagine what arrived. I am debating whether to open a dispute and return or try to rehab, it’s not wearable as is.

Very nice! How do you like those side rings? I bought the same ones for my Manor with modified side rings. I'm too chicken to cut the old rings off though.
Based on looks and installation, I love them. They are only slightly too wide and seem to update its overall look, plus give it a little extra strap length. Unlike actual Willis rings, the one end with the threads is flat, not rounded so it was see that or the screwdriver end at the front, I picked the driver end to be at the front. Hopefully they don’t work themselvs loose when I actually carry it, but for now I consider them a win.
Looks great! The paint looks like a good match for the color! I'm really loving the Court style. I have a mahogany one that I just finished, and a black one that I'm about to start on, but I'm already lusting after more colors lol.
I'd return. I was watching that bag. I was happy to see you got it but now I'm not happy you didn't get it in good condition. So sorry the seller is crappy. Sometimes I message sellers right after winning the auction asking them to put in box big enough so it's not damaged during shipping.
Absolutely! You think they would know that but the minute you don’t tell them, they ship in the priority envelope. As soon as you see your like “Oh no!” My green prairie was shipped like that, surprisingly I got lucky this time, the seller was in my state but I still ended up with cigarette smoke.
Ebay typically sides with the buyer even when the seller is right, in this case, with undisclosed damage and poor shipping, I would contact the seller for a return and if she balks, open a dispute.
