Beautiful job! Yes, it's so rewarding when you see how these bags respond.
Thank you! It really is incredibly satisfying to bring an old item back to life.

Well if that's not a breathtaking rehab I don't know what is. Absolutely beautiful! Well done!!

Aaaaaaand I just ordered some Brasso. Thanks for the help! I am having trouble with the hardware on a bag.
To be honest I feel like I hardly did anything, the products seemed to work their own magic. As you said earlier, Blackrock must come from Hogwarts. Perhaps Obenauf's has a shop in Diagon Alley lol.

Cleaning and polishing hardware has certainly been my least favorite step so far, but the Brasso seemed to work well. I liked the thick consistency since it made it fairly easy to apply to the hardware without having it spread too much onto the leather.

I just finished rehab on my first Court bag, made in Costa Rica in 2000, so not quite vintage. This is only my 2nd rehab, and even though I knew it was possible from seeing all the pictures here, I'm still in awe of how well the old Coach leather responds to being bathed and conditioned. This bag seems to have been VERY heavily used, as evidenced by the wear marks on the D-rings that the strap snaps onto, and by the copious amounts of dirt and grime that came off during the bath. I wasn't able to get rid of the wrinkled leather on the handle, and there's a few pen marks near the top and on one side that I didn't want to mess with, but I don't think they're very noticeable now that the dark color of the leather has been restored.

Bag was washed in very warm water with Ivory liquid and scrubbed lightly with a soft washcloth and rinsed thoroughly. Stuffed with paper towels and hand towels to dry. I used 2 coats of Apple conditioner, 2 coats of Blackrock, 2 coats of Obenauf's LP, and 1 coat of Blackrock, waiting at least 18-24 hrs between coats and buffing with a soft cloth and horsehair brush in between the last few coats as well. Hardware was cleaned using Brasso and q-tips.

Hii...

Just wondering which of the Blackrocks products you all referring to (here’s screen shot of the products I found on amazon).

Thanks
Those are all the same product. The older jars used to be white but now it comes in the clear jar. I think. The Blackrocks I ordered a few months ago arrived in a clear jar anyway, I hope I got the newer stuff.

Fabulous job, E!

I emailed them several years ago. I told them the specific ingredients I needed to avoid. The response was that the formula was proprietary. I wear gloves when I apply it just in case but sometimes it gets on my skin anyway.

"Due to competitors trying to secure our formula, we do not disclose our
formula in any fashion, even to confirm whether in contains certain
ingredients. Although Leather CPR is made from cosmetic ingredients, and is
also Dermatologist tested, wearing gloves would probably be a good idea for
anyone that has a medical condition.

We wish you the very best regarding your health."

Right. What if you'll try to recreate it at home by finding the exact ratio of the components, using trial-and-error method? Or, god forbid, what if you're that competitor in disguise, just pretending to be someone worried about her skin condition?

My leather paint arrived for my British tan court bag whose handle edges are really scuffed up. CPR did nothing to fix them. I bought a couple colors since I couldn’t see them in person, I mixed, I tested and the color that worked best was...British tan straight from the bottle lol. It looked too light at first given her new more russett tones.

What brand did you buy?
