I got my Sheridan Monticello today!! She is in fantastic condition, just needed a cleaning and conditioning. I already moved in, I love it so much. I got so excited when I saw it, I immediately started rehabbing it and forgot to do a before photo, so I'm adding the photo from Etsy, where I purchased it, and then my after.

She's gorgeous and looks brand new! That's so great that you can start wearing her right away too. Is the inside pretty roomy?

Surprisingly yes! It fits more than the Patricia's Legacy bag I got! It has two compartments, like the manor bag. I believe it's slightly smaller than that style but similar in looks and design.

A few weeks ago I was looking for some help with a beige devon bag... she had lots of verdigris around the hardware and green stains, but I think I’ve been able to remove about 90% of it. While it’s definitely not pristine - in fact I think I introduced more stains by my attempt at rehab (conditioner appears to not have dried evenly?), I’m more than sure it’s clean and I think I’d actually use it.

Anyway, here she is!
(I might try to wash the flap once more to see if I can get rid of the conditioner stain near the turn lock..)

VERY nice. I have this bag in Navy and never knew what it was called. I got it from somebody on craigslist for 15 bucks about 5 years ago. Mine was made 1995.

Which is easier to rehab a red or a green bag? I find myself drawn to both but I've heard that red can be finicky and wasn't sure if green was the same.

Bright red bleeds a lot. Darker red, not too much. I recently washed the green Kimball zip and it didn't bleed at all.

Yes. It doesn't fade the color.

I finally got to that burgundy stewardess and it was like a crime scene. That bag also had soooo much verdigris. OMG!! I gave up trying to get it all off and just dunked. On top of all of that it was filthy. Ugh [emoji58] Surprisingly it’s still has color after two baths and a rinse.

That green stuff was even caked all over the leather. My hands are stained too. I’d be surprised if it turned out well.
