One fail after another. Ugh! I have a BT convertible clutch. It had lots of pen marks. In an effort to remedy this pen marks with all sorts of cleaners the area surrounding the pen marks lightened. But the pen mark didn't completely disappear. So I bought British tan wood-n-stuff sample to make the piping look better. I applied it on the ink spots to cover. It covers but doesn't match my BT [emoji22]. So to make that spot disappear I decided to go to town and applied a mix of leather CPR and wood-n-stuff all over the bag. The rest of the bag looks fine but it's the freaking face of the bag, the front flap on top, won't absorb it evenly. [emoji35] Maybe I have to do another coat without mixing it with CPR. Not happy with the results. You can still see the lighter area on the back where the ink line was. View attachment 4390184View attachment 4390185
I think I'd try another mixed coat but wait several days. I think I remember the wood n stuff lifting when I tried another coat.

Is it impossible to get scratches out of the vintage Gramercy made in Italy handbags, wallets, etc? Here is an example of what I'm referring to with some scratches on the exterior: https://poshmark.com/listing/Coach-satchel-5c92aa346197452b4c783020 Didn't know if Blackrock's would conceal or not.
The scratches won't disappear but if you get it all looking black, they will be a lot less noticeable. I rehabbed a Gramercy that was in sad shape and it came out great.

Wow! This is amazing!! Oh I'm so excited. I am still spending some time trying to decide on a purse. I self-authenitcated a lovely Gramercy wallet. Not sure if it will show up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Co...526302?hash=item21563972de:g:1UAAAOSwLnRcRzxR I fell in love with the color and decided to go for it after comparing it with every listing (my own research on here as well). I'm so excited! I was worried about the scratches shown, but not anymore after seeing your beauty. Thanks!!

I’ve complete 2 of 3 “rehabs!” After seeing the magic some of you work in this thread, this is more just cleaning and moisturizing [emoji23] But I still wanted to post them since I received advice here. My Mineral Chelsea Hobo is still drying, I hope to moisturize it tomorrow.

First up is my Chelsea Field Bag, outside was very good condition, just some scrapes. The interior was covered in pen marks. I used acetone to remove them and then washed the interior with dawn. Either I used too much acetone or not enough as I ended up with some rings and spots but I think it still looks better than before and they are faint. Maybe at another time I’ll try again. I wiped it down with water, vinegar, and a little dawn and then a wet towel to rinse it and then moisturized with Blackrocks. I love her! I want to get a silver chain strap and shorten a bit and then remove the top handle portion that unbuckles and attach a dog leash strap to the buckle so that I can use the bag crossbody.

Next is my Chelsea Satchel. She had some scuffs and the sides were droopy. I’m hoping the drying while stuffed will help reshape the sides. I’m going to leave her fully stuffed for a few more days. I gave her a good wipe down with water, vinegar and dawn and then moisturized with black rocks. I did use a little CPR on a few spots that were a little stubborn and that helped a lot. I didn’t take a pic of the back which had the most scuffs and marks but I think now it looks even better than the front. I really love this style and can’t wait to use it!

Thanks for the help and I’m learning some good tips reading back through this thread!

So I’ve been reading how rehabs on light colored bags can be difficult. So I’m not sure what to do with this. The inside is super clean, it did come with what I think is leather soap,( at least DH says that’s what it is). Should I just clean with that? The camera picked up a lot more dirt than the eye can see. Or maybe I’m just tired from rehabbing so many bags! :)
