Those are great tassels! I've wanted to make bag find and such like this for a long time. You do such a great job! Love them!

I so admire your tassels! My clumsy old fingers could never do that..

Wow those tassels are awesome!

They're so cute, Two.time.bags! Very precisely cut, too!

Thanks very much for the encouragement everyone. Here's the link to a tutorial that Joodlz posted a while ago and that inspired me to give it a go. They use fringe leather which would be easier and quicker but I couldn't get any.

Here are my latest projects- They had a bath and some Leather CPR and Blackrocks. The brown one had quite a bit of verdigris in the turn lock so I replaced it. The d-ring has a very worn spot but I decided to leave it alone for now, as the replacement I ordered ended up being too big. I am loving my Court collection!

Great job!

Thanks for your thoughts...I don't feel "ripped off" at this point. I just got a bit more work than I bargained for. Had it not been for this forum, I wouldn't have known what to do. So I'm thankful and hopeful that, in the end, I'll end up with the lovely purse I believed I purchased in the first place.

I have taken your advice and started to condition. It's still pretty damp but the edges were looking very dry and gray-ish - they look a bit better after some cpr. I know it is still damp, but I think it looks kind of dull. Would Blackrocks help with that?
She's going to look dull until she's completely dry. You will need to wait a day between coats of CPR and buff in between. If the strap and other areas still look faded after conditioning you can use some black acrylic / craft paint to cover them. Sometimes just painting it on then wiping it off immediately is enough for the faded leather to absorb the colour without applying a thick layer of paint.

Finish off with one or two coats of Black Rock and buff and she will glow!

Hi everyone, my 13648 White Leather Ali Flap Hobo Tote Purse came today and if you can give me advice on cleaning it I would appreciate it, I am not sure if it can have a bath. I think I am finished with the other ones I purchased, I will put up before and after picks when this is done to see if you think they need more work. Thank you! :smile1:

I haven't dunked a white bag like this and would be a bit nervous. Others may think otherwise. We have some brave dunkers here! I think I'd try to clean the outside by wiping with baby wipes. You may find the damp areas look a bit grey at first. Let it dry and then perhaps cover any stubborn marks with white acrylic paint mixed with conditioner. Test on an inconspicuous area first as there are different shades of white.

The lining should clean up well. You should be able to clean it by pulling it out as far as possible. Rubbing alcohol should remove any ink stains and even make up stains. You can scrub it with a nail brush and dish detergent and rinse it and let it dry.

Good luck.

I was able to hand wash the whole thing and get out 98% of the stains of ink and lipstick out of the inside.

Any suggestions on anything that can be used to condition it, some of it seems really dry looking. I read that on pebble leather Apple conditioner should not be used is that true? Thank you :smile1:

Thank you for the reply, somehow I managed to quote myself above lol. Do you know if I can use Apple Conditioner on pebble leather, it looks really dry.

You must have been replying at the same time as me! You were braver then me to dunk her. Well done. Leather Therapy or CPR is highly recommended here. Buff between coats.

Apple is good for maintenance I've heard, however you need a deep conditioner such as those mentioned above if she's really dry.

I'm patiently waiting for the mailman to deliver my CPR and Blackrocks...my poor flannel saddle pouch arrived. Sure wish the pictures had been better (lesson learned, joy) because it appears to be severely sun faded. I took some cell pics, but can't upload right now. Has anyone had sun fading sort of smooth out after a bath and conditioning? It's in good shape otherwise, just the color is faded on the front flap, and parts of the strap. I figure I'll turn it into my daily purse if it doesn't perk up with some TLC.

I don't know much about Apple, but I think it is important to get some conditioner on it as soon as possible. Apple probably isn't the best choice but if it is all you have, it is better than nothing.

Lol, nope I am a chicken. :p I sponged bathed her like I did for my patients when I worked in a hospital. Lovingly washed with Ivory and water on a cloth diaper, rinsed the same way. I just couldn't bring myself to do it lol. I am going to go to Bed Bath and Beyond and pick up some of the CPR this week for her.

Are you sure you aren't I'm my basement taking pictures....hehe! I'm working on a black Court and a brown Court too! The bath really perked up my black Court, even got the wrinkles out of the handle.

Your Court collection is really looking great! You've done a great job. Thanks for the pictures!
