Get some good leather glue and glue it down basically. Looks like all the leather is still there so you should be able to glue it pretty good! If it looks too shabby afterwards (which it might not) you can use acrylic filler or just a little paint to cover it a bit.

You might be thinking of bath and bodyworks. Bed bath and beyond is not very smelly. They basically sell housewares.

I'm bummed that the Marshalls near me shut down and every time I go to a different one I haven't found CPR.

Yes, you so are right! Can’t you tell how often I shop at those stores? LOL Thanks for clearing that up [emoji4] I used to live very close to a Marshalls that shut down too. The stuff you can find there is awesome! I kinda like them more than TJ Maxx.

image.jpg So here is an update. With the direct light, you can see how much more wear the black bag has. They are dry now, with 2 applications of CPR and buffing. I do buff, with a cotton towel when it has been absorbed. I am debating if I want to give the black bag an app of Obenauf’s Oil. I will give the blue bag an app of Blackrock. And yes, they are the same size. Must be the angle.

image.jpg The Winnie tips forward a little when closed because of the weight of the dowel. She had just a little wear and is the beautiful shade of BT. The little tabac bag has much more wear (there is at least 10 years age difference) on the edges, but improved nicely with CPR alone. Both have two apps of CPR after dunking, with lots of buffing. I am going to use a little more CPR on the Shoulder Purse. Then an app of Blackrock.
I think I need more Blackrock!

This is the before and after on my body bag. I haven’t done black rocks yet, which is why I was asking about it and the ink. What do you think about the light spots? There was a lot of the color in the water when washing and soaking.

All are lovely. My fave is the Winnie [emoji4]

@BeenBurned just authenticated this bag for me ;) thank you!!
Now, I need help. I’m in love with the bag, but have no idea how to restore it. It’s in pretty good shape other than the spots basically all over. They look like water stops, maybe. I bough saddle soap, and tried to clean it with it, some dirt came out but not the spots. I stopped as I’m afraid of ruining it.
Need expert help, as I have no clue how to care for this beauty. Thank you!!!

Hope the photos show the stains

Did you find this place through a YouTuber? I think I recognize your story. Welcome!

It looks like it could be mold or oil spots. Do you feel any texture difference where the spots are?

I second what the others say. Give it a dunk with a bit of vinegar. Let it dry completely.

These regab threads go back about 10 years so have fun with your research.

I usually buy leather CPR in Tractor Supply. Which part of TJMax will I find it?

Also have a question, I took the plunge on a stewardess bag. Looking decent in post dunk but I've never repaired edging damage. What do you experienced rehabbers recommend? This is where the flag attaches to main part of the bag. ThanksView attachment 4325837View attachment 4325839
Not sure if anyone has replied to you, but I would reinforce the piping with some flexible glue that is compatible with leather. I've used Welbond with good results. I've also used leather cement or feiblings leather glue. After you shape it and dry for a day or more use a matching acrylic paint to restore the color. Some people use textured "puff" paint, it depends on how you shape the corners and if you need to "fill cracks".

I just bought a pourly listed Chelsea Abbey in Tobacco on a whim.....wondering how bad it will be when it comes. I'm thinking there may be ink marks on the inside at the very least. I can't believe no one else bid on it?!

I have used CPR on pebbled leather with no issues, but will black rocks pull out the texture? I typically do not buy pebbled leather.

Have you received this bag yet? How does it look?

Some dye loss is expected. It looks like you removed a layer of light surface grime and it looks lovely. I would expect the light spots to even out a tiny bit with the Blackrock. But given the shape and location, I would not have noticed them if not for close examination and to me, given the whole vibe of the bag, they are a non issue! To me! I must have missed the post on the ink spots.

Thanks Lake Effect! Gonna do black rocks a bit later, I’m looking forward to seeing what it looks like after it’s all done [emoji4]

The purist in me wants to shudder a little bit , but I totally get it!

I know, me too. I was a little hesitant to post it. I know it says "shoe polish" on the label, but it's nothing like the waxy, smelly stuff that comes in tins. It's more like Fiebing's Edge Kote, but thinner.

It looks like it got scraped, if those corners stuck out a little. My Classic Hobo got caught under a rolling office bag of mine when I wasn’t paying attention. Scraped on concrete.

Good call, I bet it was something like that.

That Winnie is so cute, and the Shoulder Purse is lovely! Do you think the Shoulder Purse is Putty?

I'm down to my last teaspoon of Blackrock too. Time to reorder!

Thanks for asking. It did arrive and so far my progress is decent. The bag had some white residue on the lacing that came right off with CPR. I'm not sure why people don't try leather cleaner for some of these things.
The inside will need a lot of elbow grease but the lining pulls all of the way out so I think I can improve it . I'll post more layer.

This is a pretty accurate snap of the colors. The flap of the shoulder purse is a bit faded compared to the underbelly. I tossed in the bone and BT for the heck of it. I would expect putty to be a bit cooler, but hey, just my guess. Until I have my hands on a putty bag!! I will post a link to a seller who has hang tags on her home page.
You say putty, I say tabac . . . image.jpg
