I used one of my duffle one time when I went to the mall with two kids. I had all necessary things and everything fit but it was hard getting to the necessary things without taking everything out or digging around. It meets my requirements is zip top and the ability to wear crossbody but it was so heavy with everything in it! That's how I knew I can't make that bag work for me. I have been getting rid of all my duffles. I have sold 3 black duffles and two British tan ones that I can recall. I think I still have one that needs to be rehabbed. Lol!
I stupidly bought a red one a few months ago because it was such a good deal! I listed it, got an offer and sold it immediately just to get my money back. It would have cost a fortune to ship - I was lucky I could use the Mercari label.

Oh that reminds me I still have the red Berkeley duffle. [emoji17] Given the same bag was recently listed for 69.99 and no one was buying it for any higher price, I'll be losing money if I list it now. [emoji174][emoji20]

Oh no! So sorry to hear this! Hope you are out of financial troubles soon!
Actually it's nice that I have way too many bags that I don't need that I can purge for $$. Starting with all those I've had for years that I have never used, and those that are too small, and doubles... There is no need to keep any of these so I'm happy I'm motivated to part with them.

Court Bag Rehab, how did I do?

These are two of the seller's pictures. I was drawn to how shiny the leather looked compared to other listing.

I saw so many good results here and the process really didn't seem so hard so I decided to go for it. I was really optimistic that most of the stain would go away. I found Lexol in one of the shoe repair shops near me so I was ready to start. Some before pictures:

In it goes! The water was a brownish yellow, I'm sure some of the dirt was washed out but was it dye? Should so much dye come off?

Rinse water then I rinsed again and for a bit under the tap.

After ~24hrs, one layer of lexol:

48 hrs, mostly dry and just after 2 layers of lexol

Dark spots came off and the stain at the back I was able to make it a little more even with acetone and vinegar during the wash and evened out the colour with the conditioner. I'm just wondering what do you guys think? I have been staring at the same bag for too long and don't have the "wow" moment like when I see the other rehab before and after pics. Also I know some people use leather CPR or Blackrock to make it glossier and I guess that's what is missing here. I'm not sure if I can justify spending just $40 on leather conditioners or maybe it will get better with use with just lexol? I definitely feel more comfortable wearing it now as it is cleaner (animal hair in the back pocket before) and the leather looks even and less dry. Any suggestions to improve the back of the purse is greatly appreciated ! Thanks!

In my opinion, those other conditioners will make a big difference. You should be able to get CPR for around $8 and Blackrocks for around $12.50.

Thanks! I guess I can use it for my boots as well. I'm in Canada so I will have to bite the bullet and get it for $20 from BBB! Right now the leather just look a little too matte.

Also check out Amazon because they sell leather cpr and black rocks. Use the black rocks very sparingly because a little goes a long way.

Have you polished the hardware yet? That can make a big difference also.

Lexol is great for bags already in good condition. It's a good light conditioner.
CPR is fantastic and helps tremendously with these older bags.
It's like compairing water and pudding. The thicker conditioner really does make a difference.
I do not start any new project unless I have CPR and Black Rocks on hand.
I'd say you can definitely wear it.... it's clean now. I would probably do another layer of conditioner.... Pick up the other supplies when you can and give this bag more of your TLC when you can.
