This gamble is only setting me back $15 shipped, so I think I’m gonna take my chances!

Pfffffft! Take it! SOLD! ALL DAY LOL

Well have at it and God bless. We don’t know what we don’t know! I am a full believer on experimenting on inexpensive bags.

I had dunked an ink stained bag before which didn't bleed in various stages of the bath. It was fine in the soapy bath for 30 min. It was still fine in the next two water rinse so I thought I was safe thinking the stain wasn't water soluble. I stuffed to reshape and dry and next morning the ink had shown up on the outside. I never dunked another inky bag again. Lesson learned.
Yeah. I have a couple of lessons learned too sitting in a pile! At least my ink stain was on the outside to start with. And I know too, you just don’t know how it will look until it fully dries.

  1. So I thought I saw a blue line water mark on my heather gray rogue that is only 1 week since I bought it brand new on the coach website. I went to wipe it with a baby wipe and a dark black line formed on the piping in the bottom corner of the bag. What the hell is that? Will it go away when it dries I hope? The bag is clean, and I think the original blue spot I saw maybe just the corner was a little damp because now that’s gone and maybe when damp it just looks bluish because when it dries, and this was on the pebble leather part of the bag, I didn’t see it anymore. But the black line still there on the piping.

Not sure why the black smudge line occurred on the piping though. I did spray with apple garde a week ago so maybe that doesn’t mix well with water or cleaners??

    So mad right now!

You guys, does this look like a pourly listed flight bag?
Pondering taking a risk on this. Photos horrible.
Too far gone?

I bid on it, but expect it will go higher than I want to pay.

Any updates on this bag?

I think someone here bid on it. I'm not sure how it turned out.

I did bid on it, but I didn't win. I can't remember how much it went for, and it's gone from my "Didn't Win" list.

I doubt it. To me it just looks like ordinary corner wear. I would give it 24 hours or so to completely dry. Sorry this happened!
Thanks for your reply! That wasn’t there yesterday though, it only appeared after I got the corner wet from wiping to pebble leather part. How can a corner wear in 5 minutes? It has to be something wrong with the leather if a one week old bag gets a mark like that within seconds of wiping with a damp baby wipe?

What is the best way to fix this? Since it’s a new bag that I purchased a week ago, wouldn’t this be covered under coach’s warranty?

I don't know if it can be fixed, or if Coach's warranty would cover it. You would need to contact Coach about that.

View attachment 4315535 View attachment 4315536 Here are pictures. I started using leather CPR and it looks a little better, but not like it was. Is this possibly a leather defect in the piping?
In addition to Catbird’s comment, it looks like it might have been scraped against something. I would agree that is odd after being wiped down.
ETA, after looking at it again, could it have come in contact with something that might have left a residue?

I used a baby wipe on the pebble leather and some got on the piping. When I received the purse from coach I did use apple garde on it. Unless the baby wipe ingredients caused some sort of reaction with the apple garde?

In any case I’m disappointed. I have been putting leather CPR on it and it seems to be improving it a bit. I am going to let it dry out for now and put a little more on tomorrow and hope I can get it all to go away. I thought the rogue would be a bit more durable than this.

Baby wipes can ruin leather. I'd recommend using a leather conditioner on the leather instead of a baby wipe. It was probably a reaction after you used the Apple Garde.

FYI - I've used Apple Garde and then used various leather products without any reaction.

Here's a demonstration of what baby wipes can do after a leather protection is used:

Thank you! That seems to exactly what happened! Now I just have to figure out how to get the rest of the black off now! A lot of it is gone but a little still keeps peeping out. I just hope the leather isn’t too damaged.

So what do you suggest using to wipe the bag clean?

If you spill something on it, just use a damp cotton cloth with a touch of mild soap and water, then dry with another cloth. If you used Apple Garde on it, that will be the best way to get something off it. You can also condition it. For a new bag, something like Apple conditioner is fine. So is Leather CPR. It shouldn't need conditioning that often if it is new.
