Oh no definitely not, but maybe take her out on weekends?

I can relate..I have both a PRISTINE Mandy & Leigh 65th anniversary in Whisky..veg. dyed, natural vachetta leather that I can't bring myself to carry much of anywhere! Oh, I know OCD..but, they are sooo beautiful..and smell simply divine! I shudder at the thought of a spot of nasty grease from a restaurant.

Oooohhhhh nooooo, that is a special occasion bag. Even then, it has to have its own chair. Recently, I thought of bidding on vachetta bag. Then I thought...who am I kidding, I'd never use it.

I've had good results using a paste of baking soda and water and scrubbing with a toothbrush on lighter-colored suede. You might try it on an inconspicuous place and see. Sometimes just a bath and brushing with a suede brush will do it. Post pics, I'd love to see your actual bag. Good luck!
Thank you for the reply. :) When you say bath do you mean actually soaking or just wiping it down? I bought another suede today that is a blue and I am so clueless. I did purchase a suede kit that has a brush and a pumice stone thing but I am lost at how to clean them if they are dirty. Any advice would be appreciated. I looked on here and saw something about a bath in water and Woolite but I am not sure if that is the bath you mean. :D

I have a beat up but rehabbed mandy and a pristine Ali. I carry the mandy a lot more.

I have had fairly good results with Lincoln's E-Z suede & Nu buc cleaner. Suede is just a devil to clean!

Oops I hit send and forgot the pictures! Isn't she pretty? And she holds a ton of stuff too!
Great job bigal - she is gorgeous!

Good evening everyone!! Rehab #3, zip top shopper is finally finished. Between shoveling through most of the last month, looooong work hours and a nasty virus, I didn't think I'd ever get it done.

Does any one have any suggestions on storing bags? I'm using white pillow cases as covers, but I'm unsure if I should put something inside to prevent slouching.

Wow! What a difference!

My first black Coach rehab. A Basic Bag. I posted before pics here. Note the scuffed piping.

http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-833400-97.html

I used black Edge Kote on all the piping to cover the scuffing. That stuff is amazing! I wish it was available at retail in more colours. I also used it to cover filler on repaired piping on a black Sonoma Sling. I'll post pics of that later.

She's lovely two.time!

Thanks Joodlz. In the interest of full disclosure, this is probably a more accurate pic of the color. Still pretty, tho!

I think it's gorgeous!

This is my 1998 Soho Buckle Bag #4157 from Goodwill for $17.49 with a coupon...in very good condition, just needing some re-shaping. Befor pics are here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-855067-27.html#post26261809

Nothing out of the ordinary rehab-wise: Warm bath with Dawn, rinse and stuff. Leather CPR 2X a day apart, then Blackrocks 2X, also a day apart. Brushed to a glow with a horsehair blend brush.

Then to fix the slouch...I figured I could fashion a nice, fairly stiff placemat into a liner. Bought 4 of these (with Pier 1 stickers still on them) at Goodwill Bargain Barn for $.25 each. I made a paper pattern and started cutting and piecing it together...notice the stripes running different directions. This is still a work-in-progress, as I don’t think it’s quite long enough. The idea is for it to fit behind the pocket and tuck up under the tiny flap on the front of the bag. Problem is, it keeps popping out on the front. I’m guessing it wants to be just a bit longer. I can do that, as it’s pieced anyway. Double-faced fabric fusion tap holds really well...and it’s tough to take apart. I’ve already made one adjustment, just need to do it again. The tape is hard to remove, but Goo Gone did it. CAUTION: Work in a really well ventilated place if you use Goo Gone! I think this is a sound idea...just need a little more adjusting!

Interesting note...the wayback machine shows this bag with the sides tucked in (http://web.archive.org/web/19970509010543/http://www.coach.com/product/index.html)...I have NO IDEA how they managed that!

This is my 2000 Abbie Zip #9017 all clean and glowing...from Goodwill Bargain Barn for $1.00! Before pics are here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-855067-12.html#post26234607

Nothing remarkable here...just a basic rehab like the brown Bucket Bag I just posted...this one was in excellent shape to start with...now looking even better!

Beautiful rehabs as usual Joodlz!

joodlz - i think it's lovely!

I posted this a week or so ago on the "seen in the wild" thread, but seeing your photos, i just had to post it again! Your bag looks so much nicer than the one i mention here:

late last week, i had occasion to give a presentation before the board of directors of a firm i have been courting.

Before the meeting started, everyone was milling around, chatting. I happened to notice that one of the board members, a woman i had never met before, was carrying a cute little vintage coach bag.

I walked up to her and said, "oooh - a red abbie! I love it! It's adorable!" the woman looked at me as if i were speaking greek, then said, "what?"

"your purse!" i said. "it's an abbie, isn't it? I love vintage coach."

she looked down at her own purse with disdain. "this?" she said. "i have no idea. It's some old piece of cr** my sister gave me for christmas. She said she got it on ebay. I'm only using it because i'm wearing red today."

:d

rofl!

Wow!! This is going to be great when you are done!! I'm looking forward to the 'afters'

Oh, this is going to be a good one! Can't wait to see it all complete!

Will post when it's done. And thanks for the progress shots bigal - I enjoy seeing them!

That is going to be gorgeous when you are done--can't wait to see it. I still can't figure out why someone would have stitched the leather like that. Any clue?

Vintage, I think the kisslock frame fell off and that was their solution to fix it. I don't know why on earth they thought it was a good idea :nogood:

Wow, she's going to look stunning! Can't wait to see it. How will you attach the kiss lock?

(As an aside can I just say what lovely nails you have, Beccabaglady! Mine are dreadful.)
Why thank you, two.time! They were a genetic gift from my great aunt, lol! I am the only one of four girls in the family that got them, and they've been that way as l can remember. :smile1:
As for the kiss lock, I'm going to open the frame up a little, trim the leather along the top edge (can't do the sides, it will make it too narrow), then add a little glue, slide on the frame and then squeeze it back together. I'll post pics as I go!

Ack! Haven't had time to get on here and comment, so will be back later. In the meantime, thought you all would like to see what arrived today - the terribly sutured watermelon tote! And whateve, check out the last pic - mystery solved!

I think I can fix this by trimming the leather back just a bit and then reinstalling the kisslock frame. I should be able to hide the holes under the frame.

Wow...I think you're on the right track with reinstalling the kisslock frame...and I admire your willingness to take on this daunting task! Good luck...can't wait to see!
