I must be blind. I still can't see it. I thought the FS was always to the right of the dash separating the two sets of numbers/letters. Not trying to argue...just curious. Note to self...make that appointment with the ophthalmologist ASAP. lol

btw, I'm going to try rehabbing this bag. Even if I can't conquer the glue, maybe I can disguise it a bit. It's not a huge investment and I do like the style of the bag.
It's stamped on later like the bull's-eye

So here
Is the dakota i bought in September, sorry it took so long to post. Anyway, it's actually the apricot color I think
The coloring is pretty worn in areas and was just looking for advice on dying this bag. I was thinking maybe a grey shade. Opinions?

I've never had good luck with dyeing. If you can get the dye to go on evenly and not be too shiny, it would be lovely. I love my Dakotah. Mine is black.

If it is the same bag I am thinking of then there is an FS stamp, see the pic below, near the bottom left. It's on the opposite side from the bulls-eye mark. I've rotated the auction pic to make it easier to read.

I'm not buying but I was wondering maybe dying the suede a darker Olive green to disguise it might work. View attachment 3848628

You are mixing it up with some price tags that have the letter FS with the style number. This is a stamp put on the creed after production to indicate final sale, just like the ES for employee sale or the target outlet stamp, or the X we sometimes see.

Ah ha...thank you ladies! Love learning something new every day. I'd not ever seen this before and whateve, you're right. I was confused. LOL

I have three red bags that are in nearly pristine condition. I've only used CPR to condition because I don't want to change that gorgeous color at all, but they need a little more protection. It rarely rains in Texas, unless I'm wearing one of those bags. ☹️ Any recommendations for products that won't change the color? I'm afraid to use the usual Black Rocks.

Katherine, love your Boston pic. I’m a momma of two myself!

Do you bathe multiple bags together? I have a navy and dark brown that need a bath.

Also, how do you do vinegar washes? I'm tired of brass polish, it's so messy. I did a bath with a bag using both blue dawn and vinegar but it didn't do a whole lot. I'm wondering if I should have done separate baths for the soap and vinegar, or if I didn't use enough vinegar.

I never put them together, especially if they are different colors. I would put vinegar in the rinse water, not the bath water, but others may do it differently.

I don’t normally bathe together unless they’re the same colors. I wouldn’t mix the soap and vinegar either. I find the Dawn does a better job of cleaning and vinegar does a better job with mold and smells.

That's Bruno. He passed away three years ago, and we've yet to get another, he was a tough act to follow. I did take a peek at petfinder last week though...

I'll bet two are adorable together!

Aw, they are the best dogs. :) The ones we have now are our third and fourth Bostons, both rescues. [emoji173]️

I would only dunk one bag at a time unless they are the same color and small enough to fit in my sink. I agree with whateve about putting vinegar in the rinse only.

I use Cape Cod metal polishing cloths. They’re impregnated with some kind of solvent and you can use them many times by keeping them sealed in a ziplock bag. I mask off the surrounding leather to protect it. Very fine (000) steel wool can be used if necessary.

For turn locks and ball chains, I remove them, soak them in straight vinegar for 15 minutes, dry them off and then rub with the polishing cloth. You must finish with a final polish using a clean soft dry cloth.
