+1 - If you stay on the tPF boards, the progression is inevitable. For me it was:

Phase 1: fixing up my own Coach bags.

Phase 2: browsing for bargain bags to fix up. :okay :

Phase 3: buying every bargain bag I ran across and trolling eBay looking for more rehabs. :cray:

Phase 4: Finding FOS.

Phase 5: Shopping PCE

The only thing I have left is Phase 6: Shopping FP. :faint:

I put myself on a ban but still bought from FOS this week and am seriously looking at a PCE purchase this weekend. Well, OK I guess "ban" would be too strong a word - I was going to be more circumspect in my purchases. In my defense, I only made three eBay purchases this week.

hahaha... wow! pretty accurate for me! Although, I've already started shopping and haven't fixed mine yet.

Getting to it! I shall post my bag soon :amuse::whistle:
What's FOS, FP, and PCE?

I know this isn't the Dooney rehab thread, but I would be very interested in any photos of your progress and results!
Sure! Is there even a Dooney rehab thread? You know what you said about the cardboard bottom? Well, I figured out why my bag was misshapen. Some of the cardboard that should have been along the bottom had shifted. I almost wonder if it was made wrong to begin with, as I can't force it back into the place where it should be because the lining is glued down. I'm wondering that if I wash it, I might be able to mold it into the proper shape if it gets wet enough. I don't know if I want to try that yet.

Here's my first one!

I bought this yellow card case recently. It had black prints? I guess.. on the front and back. I bought it anyways because it was the last (and I LOVE yellow).

The SA tried to "help" me get it cleaned up, but barely did so. I say help in quotes because she cleaned it for 30s before telling me she can't do anything. She couldn't get it off with the Coach cleaner :(

Anyways, I love this card holder! They did get another shipment but the black dirt/oil print was worst than mine!

TIA :)

Yes, my purple one (which I bought back in december) also needs rehab! hehe.. but one at a time *calms down*
BTW, I'm obsessed with card holders! They are soooo practical!

Wow! That looks great! I have used acrylics on bags lots of times, but never combined with Leather Therapy. Did this change the way it dried? Did it take longer? I have had lots of fun rehabbing bags I bought off Goodwill.com but then the shipping charges made it very impractical. I'm working on a newer bag I paid about $55 for with the intent to restore her. I'm learning a lot from all you.

Thanks...I don't think the drying time of conditioner with paint mixed in is much different than just plain conditioner. I usually let a bag "rest" overnight between rounds of conditioning, whether there's paint involved or not. A word of caution though...if your mixture has too much acrylic, you may end up with a chalky appearance that may even develop cracks...not so good. I've found that several coats of conditioner with less paint work better. Just make sure they're good and dry before re-applying. Your results may vary also, depending on the leather.

(I think I am writing this silly story to release stress. Both my parents passed away 3 months apart. I am the trustee and am having to go through, sort, give away, throw away, sell, and get the house ready to go on the market. It's very hard...so many memories.)

Anyway I just returned yesterday from working on their place again. They live out of town. So, I will release some more stress.

Oh my! What has happened to my Maggie? Do we have Sherlock's out there?

I am very sorry for your loss. Losing both parents in such a short span of time must be so difficult and sad.
I am enjoying your little Maggie saga. It's cute. Thanks for taking the time.

I've washed Dooneys before. They turn out great. They have amazing leather! Just stuff it and shape it so it dries correctly. I've washed Brightons too. Good quality bags hold up to a good wash.

Thank you for the encouragement. It is rough. Lots of emotions, guilt, sorrow, regrets, joy, overwhelmed... goes on and on.

Poor Maggie had another bath. Details to follow later.

Thanks! I've washed Brightons before. It's just that cardboard bottom in the Dooney that has me worried.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents.

I love the color combinations in your pics. Very well displayed. The floral heels are to die for. I'm enjoying all the eye candy and it gets better! You add the purple colored card holder! I forgot all about the rehab project you were sharing! LOL
