looks interesting...now, who's gonna be the first to try it?
I didn't get it. I was tempted but while I was looking for the best price, I came across another brand with good reviews and got that one instead. It is Skidmore's Leather Cream, made with natural oils and beeswax. I am experimenting with it now. On one bag I did one side with Skidmore's and the other side with mink oil. I prefer the Skidmore's side. The mink oil side is still a little sticky and shows fingerprints which will probably go away eventually but the Skidmore's side is smooth already. I don't think it darkens the leather. When I first put it on, all the imperfections were magnified until it soaked in.

Joodlz - beautiful job! I love that you took her out for happy hour - what fun! ;)

I have the same bag it was one of my earlier rehabs. remeber not being happy with the trim - still looked scuffed and dull so I put it away for another day....maybe I should dtouch it up with someLeatherCPR/acryllic paint mixture? I bought some pain a few months ago along with brushes and STILL haven't used them! I'm a big scaredy cat!
Mine looked scuffed and dull too. Blackrocks really helped with it. You could paint it but you would have to be really careful not to get it on the other parts. I don't usually use brushes. I use a q-tip to mix it and then apply it with the q-tip and spread it with my fingers so I can get better control and blend it in better. If it doesn't look good, you can wipe it off. It doesn't become permanent right away.

Ladies, I need your help quickly. I recently acquired an ecru courier bag and she is drop dead gorg! Well she was a little dirty. Not too dirty and well taken care of. The leather is soooo soft, reminds me of the nappa leather used on the tortilla ergo bags. So soft that I cleaned her with saddle soap instead of my normal ivory. With that said, here she is drying, I just surface washed her, she did not need a dunk. My question is, what do I condition her with? I only have CPR and I will use that but I do not want it shiny, or a coating on it, right now it's in its rawest leather form. Do I even condition her? The saddle soap says on the label that it's a soap and conditioner. Your help is appreciated. http://www.flickr.com/photos/76058330@N03/sets/72157633418120556/

Does anyone have tips on cleaning striped Legacy lining? My 65th anniversary collection doubled and I now have a small top handled pouch too. The lining is a bit dingy. I soaked the entire bag, and it helped a bit, but I would like to brighten it up more if possible. I got this pouch for $23 shipped, with the idea of making it my test case before I tried anything on my 65th shoulder bag.

Thanks!

I have just scrubbed it with dish soap and water. Did you try Soilove?

Ooh, she is gorgeous. It is amazing that she is so soft. I got one with just the Coach imprint on the inside rather than the metal tag and the leather was stiff and thin. Are the buckles really heavy? Mine were because they were solid brass. I don't think CPR will leave it shiny. I think it soaks in. You could try it on the inside pocket first. If it doesn't work the way you want, you could use a thinner conditioner like Lexol or Bick's. I think you should use something.

Thanks and the leather is so thin but you know what, I think the older ones with the metal tag are really thin, but surprisingly I like it, it feels like lamb....., the buckles are not that heavy but yes full brass. I keep touching this bag. I am totally in love with it! And I don't even like flap bags typically! Good idea about the inside pocket, I just don't want to ruin any part of her. :p

I personally pull the linings out of the bag as much as I can and really scrub them, towel blot and then let them dry, trying to not get the leather wet. That is how I clean my legacy stripe linings. I've had several bags with this type of lining and own the vachetta tote that has this lining. Mild soap such as ivory or white dove and this makes the tote smell yummy.

A picture might help. Sometimes you can get ink out. Most of the time you can't so it is a risk. If it was a really good price, I would probably take the chance. I figure that if I couldn't remove the ink, I could touch it up with acrylic paint.

Thanks...here is probably the best one. It is right by the cut-out so seller said she didn't notice it at first. It is also on the back part of the bag which is good.

The pictures are too small for me to see. If it is a good price and you think you could live with it if you can't get it out, I would go for it.

Sorry...here is the close up in a larger size (I think). Question is...what can I try to use to get it out? Looks like it is bordering the stitching as well as the cutout.

That's a beauty. I love that style so much.

Some people have had success with Soilove. On another thread, someone raved about Lincoln EZ cleaner but it didn't work for me. I have used Amodex but it has only really worked well on fabric, not leather. Other people use alcohol or hand sanitizer. I bet it will be easier to get it out of the stitching than the leather. If you rub too hard, you might end up lightening the leather.
