I'm working on my first real rehab right now. Today, I've cleaned a few bags with non-bleach Lysol wipes. Also, used the wipes, Lexol cleaner, and Lexol conditioner (the items I've been able to locate so far) on my Hampton's Business Carryall. It looks so much better, I can hardly believe that such a small intervention had such a big result.

However, right now, my dark green Sonoma Flap Nubuc (Hyacinth authenticated her for me), is hanging to dry stuffed with towels after a trip through the washing machine. Although the photos don't show it, she was so dirty, I knew I wouldn't use her. I haven't used her and we found her in May 2011. She already looks so much better; I think she will be just fine after she dries with some good brushing.

Here is the link to her before photos:

Did the Brasso stain the leather? I don't see where you need edgecote on this bag. Very nice job.

Very pretty color! I had the same problem with ink. Somehow I missed seeing it before I bathed it and it bled through in a bunch of places. I'm going crazy now trying to paint over it while making it look natural.

I actually was going to retake the afters because you can see our ugly old falling down sheds in the background! They were here when we bought the house and my husband had a lot of equipment for his business to store in them. After we sold off some of his equimpment when he got a job we gradually cleared them out just in time for a huge tree limb to fall on one of them, so it's a work in progress. I imagine we can get some $$ for the scrap aluminum when we get around to tearing it down, but it's huge so I don't know how we're going to get it out of there.

Here's what's left of the blue spot, it really doesn't show up, I had to kind of focus on it:

These pix would actually benefit from having a flash (I'm using my camera phone, as usual, my hubby is out of town with the "real" camera) because the lighting makes it look greyish-it was an overcast day when I took the pix and it's overcast now so I can't really improve on them, I don't think.

Amazing!! What a cute bag!

purple cosmetic bag: badly stained and had a bottle of some kind of patchouli type scent (oil?) dumped in it. The oil must have leached a bit of purple dye into the lining which wouldn't go away, but I'd say its better

Nice!! Makeup stains are a pain...the lining looks great now! And the color is such a pretty, deep shade of purple.

AND-while we are talking about suede, I've been meaning to take pix of this and post. There are no before pictures because the bag was just a little dirty. You may have noticed I love suede bags and the problem with buying an expensive suede bag is you aren't going to be able to wipe it clean and condition it like smooth leather, it's harder to get it out when it is dirty.

Anyway, I paid $99 for this Flint Suede Editorial Zoe and it was just a little dirty. I debated for a few days whether or not to wash her, because it wasn't that noticeable, and I held my breath when I finally broke down and did so. This is the bag I put in a net bag, btw. There's not much to see, except that she came out just fine.

Happy to report that I'll have after pics of my Lenox to share tomorrow. She needed some reshaping. I'm still amazed that for a 20-year old bag, there is not one scuff anywhere on this bag! The piping is pristine...if only everyone treated their bags so well (but then I guess we wouldn't have as much fun rehabbing, huh?).

Darn, the ink is a shame...but it's not going to be that noticeable so I wouldn't worry about it. That bag is the same color as my drawstring tote and it's a great color, you can't quite capture it in pix.
