I've been out of control-as usual..but the deals are so good: A Legacy Leigh in Raisin color just arrived in the mail today. (HG happiness). I am awaiting two bags, one that the seller didn't list a name or much info about it, but the photo looked like an Italy bag, so took a shot with her. Fingers crossed. And I decided my reverse suede (Cashin era?) green bag needed a Crescent?/Saddle bag to match so I'll be posting those "family" photos soon. I love Dooney and Bourke....especially the All weather leather vintage stuff, and the new Alto line and Florentines are beautiful. I am so glad they are bringing back some beautiful stuff. Was getting a little tired of the "cartoon" teenager stuff.

Ooo can't wait to see pics, I'm still on the hunt for the perfect green bag!!
Dooney and Bourke did this whole campaign to introduce young people to them and I think they went a tad over board with it lol...I was happy to see some grown up bags in the store lately!
I bought 2 DB purses as well but I was over looked in the auth. Forum....well for one at least
The other was a fake AWL...now I dont know what to do with it..I'll probably give it to my 5 year old niece to play with hahaha

Latest rescue is my Coach Manor 9977 that I bought for 0.99 cents. I figured, what's the worst that can happen for a buck? When I received it it has this large stain on the front, so It is presently having a bath after I covered the stain overnight in talc to see if it had any grease that could be absorbed. Will post the after pics when I see how far I get with it today.

$1!!!!!! What a find, super cute bag. I hope that stain comes out, it does look a bit greasy huh...like lotion or something :/

I think we all have this in common! sometimes now even AFTER i rehab them I just want to hang them up to look at them and tell everyone not to touch LOL

Years ago one of my kids was into collecting beanie babies. I just thought that craze was nuts. So I bought one and cut off the tags. My kid thought I was nuts. Then I bought a collector doll and took it out of its original box. I let kids play with it. Yeah, nuts. My point, use it and enjoy it. Life is too short. I love my old coach bags. More than the new Chinese ones. I know when I am gone the kids will go through my stuff and think it was junk. So, as long as I am here I plan to enjoy my treasures.( I hope I have at least one daughter in law to pass on my bags too.)

The other day when we were discussing camouflaging stains and flaws (when aren't we talking about that?!) I remembered a sig fabric Carly that was repaired by 14zippy4u. I thought that this was such a unique repair that the pictures should be brought forward but I couldn't find it - and now I've just came across it.

The bag was brand new but someone had used a box-cutter to open the package and had sliced right through the fabric. She said that she bought it "for the price of a soda!"

She used a glue-gun and beads to create a floral pattern that looked great and obscured the damage!

The Crescent bag. It looks nearly identical to the Saddle bag except for the line going up the middle, and possibly they are slightly different in size but I don't own both so am not sure about their respective sizing. The gals over in the I.D. thread are the true detail experts. I own a Saddle bag and I love it. The Crescents do show up quite a bit, but are pretty popular so sell well, and often are higher than I can pay.

Thanks Jessi. After researching I *thought* that was the name, but wasn't 100% sure.

Someone got the red, foldover Bonnie Cashin for Meyers bag and the early Coach portfolio for $128, not a bad price for 2 desirable vintage bags.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

lol-I'm a little sad, I felt kinda unique with mine! ;)

BTW, I am carrying my Anderson zip today that I "whitewashed" with the same blend as I used for my foldover, and even though I never have done a real reveal of that bag, seeing the Anderson in the sunlight reminded me of something I don't think I mentioned. I used the Plaid Acrylic paing in "linen" but I randomly picked up this other stuff:

http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/home/2800-52.aspx

Eco Flow Pearl Waterstain, and mixed it in with the leather CPR, & linen paint. When I say random, I mean I ran across it when looking for something else, and totally just compulsively ordered it. It's sort of expensive ($15) but it's a biggish bottle.

The funny part is, the site I ordered it from didn't really have any instructions:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/22102819064...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_2152wt_939

so I totally guessed. I just now found it on the Tandy site and watched the video linked to the product, and it turns out I kinda used it almost exactly like they say to.

Anyway, it's not very noticeable but the Pearl added a bit of a sheen to the flat white acrylic. I wasn't sure it did anything at all, but today in the sun I found it more noticeable. I think it enhances the finish of the bag, and was worth it to me. They also have it in a Gold and Silver finish. I imagine the pearl could also be mixed with other colors besides white.

Thanks for posting this. I have had a few Carlys and other siggies with fabric damage. One had a burn hole which I was able to hide mostly with iron-on fabric. I could only camouflage the black parts. I am at a loss at what to do for most of the other wear marks. If only I could buy matching fabric.

Maybe you can have an embroidery shop put your initial(s) there. Covers and personalizes at same time.

I need to get a better picture of it, the sun is so bright outside I can barely see it to get a picture! It's totally cheapo construction, a faile ribbon type fabric with plasticy pictures stuck to it, but how could I not get it? $15 on eBay. It was stuck in the middle of one my coach searches, I'm not sure what triggered it, but YAY!
