Hello! I am trying to find out if the Coach handbag i was given is authentic or a fake. Inside the bag there is a leather stamped serial number along with an inscription. I will attach photos so maybe someone can tell me of its legit or not. I know it was made in 2007 that is pretty much all I've gathered.

This looks authentic- i remember seeing it in the stores. It also came in cobalt and black, I think.

Hi all!
Figured this might be a longshot but I want to ask anyways. Is there a forum on here for trading or possible selling of certain hangtags? Bought off an ebayer who said they had the hangtag.....opened package and its missing. Long story short, I can't return because I finally found a matching wirstlet for my Zoe, it is in brand new condition too, but I am so persnickity I want that dang tag! I read to email coach, which I did but I also heard since these collections are pretty old there is a slim chance they will have the matching one. Its in the color dusty rose and its the wristlet sized tag. Any insight is more than appreciated, thanks in advance! :D

There is no selling allowed on the forum. It is unlikely anyone will have any extra hangtag in the exact color you need anyway. If you take your bag to the outlet, they have a box full of hangtags and might be able to find one that is close. That is your best bet. If you call Coach, they'll probably just send you one to match the hardware.

I see, I'm not to sure how the SA's are here in Vegas....customer service is not known for their politeness if you catch my drift! Even the outlet SA's complain about how rude the shops are. I guess I will call and see, thanks for the info!

I would try the south outlets. They aren't as busy. The SAs at the Forum (the one near the casino entrance) are wonderful but I don't think FP stores have as big of a supply of hangtags. I don't think many FP customers would buy something that was missing a hangtag. When my local outlet opened, within 6 weeks they had a huge box full of hangtags. I asked them if Coach had given them a starter set; they said they were all collected off the floor since they had opened!

Does anyone know of a reference guide which includes the names which coach has used repetitively over the years...."Madison" as an example?

(I know that madison refers to a --grouping??- rather than a specific style)--

Am trying to get a sense of whether these names are associated with a better quality of leather, more detail, better hardware, etc., or whether they're more or less random.

Tattersall, for instance, seems to refer to a lining pattern, but did it refer to other details to?

Or what about bleecker? These are NYC street names, but did/do they also mean best/better/ mid-line??

Hope this makes (some) sense...

Thanks for any insights!

I don't think there is a guide. Coach probably used NYC street names because NYC was where they started. I've seen other brands use them too. Coach also uses female names for handbags.

Madison is probably the most confusing of all. It was used for a particular style in the 80s, then for an entire line in the 90s; and they had nothing in common with each other. I think in more recent times, the Madison line kept some of the same vibe as the 90s line. The bags were classy and refined, and had mostly finely pebbled leather.

Tattersall is a fabric pattern. You can google it. Sometimes it was used on the exterior of bags as well as lining.

From what I can tell, starting in the 90s, Coach had several product lines going at the same time. Each item within a product line had similarities. For example, in the 90s, there were Madisons, Sonomas, Sohos, Sheridans, Bleeckers, etc. Over time, some lines went away and others were created. Some were redefined. I don't think the current Bleeckers have much in common with the early Bleeckers. When Stuart Vevers took over, SAs said that the product lines were a thing of the past, that bags would be defined only by the type of bag they were, such as shoulder bags, satchels, etc. Current style names: Dakotah, Swagger, Gramercy, Prairie, Mercer and Rhyder, were used in the 90s, some for individual styles, some for product lines. The current styles have no relation to the old ones; they reuse names all the time.

The different names don't usually have anything to do with quality. In the past, Coach used the word "pinnacle" for the top of the line items.
