My Found Objects fob that I orderd with PCE arrived today. It came from a store in New Jersey, and was nicely hand wrapped. Momtok pointed out that a month ago, there were only 60 in the system, so if you're eyeing this one, it might be a good idea to snag one as soon as you can.

I have only small bags with silver tone hardware, and I feel the original style of the fob is too big and jumbled and would overwhelm a small bag. I carefully separated out the headphones, turntable, and key ring, and put them all together. I originally planned to remove the skull also, but I decided it would look bare, so I left it on for now. This is how it came out:

ETA: Disclaimer: This fob will never be resold. This is for my own personal use.

ETA #2: I did see the (presumably) stegosaurus and feather fob, but the stegosaurus looks too bulky for me, and I'm a T-Rex kinda girl.
I love it much better broken up into two fobs. Great idea!

VERY nice! I think it does look much better separated, especially when using it as a bag charm (as a keychain it probably wouldn't matter at all).

All this customizing makes me think Coach should offer something like the Pandora system, only for bag charms.

My Pave Feather fob arrived today. It was sent from a store, tucked into a lovely dustbag - and then left to rattle around in the box without benefit of any scrap of bubblewrap, paper, etc. Not even a plastic bag to keep the white dustbag from getting dirty rubbing against the inside of the box. I'm not sure if they're being eco-conscious or just lazy. :thinkin:

Anyway, here's my franken-fob. I wanted a feather and stars combo for my Croc Denim Rhyder but the pre-made Coach options had either shiny silver or gold hardware and I needed gunmetal. So I took the Pave Feather with the gunmetal split ring and added the small stars (mixed metals including gunmetal - but its ring was the wrong color) to it. I'm still debating whether to keep it on the claw clasp it's on at the moment, or just ease the split ring around the handle hardware like I do on other bags (if you're careful and use a spudger you're unlikely to scratch anything). The claw seems a bit oversized to me, but it's what I have at the moment.

Thank you! :smile1:

Thank you! I guess it could technically be a key chain, but I use an inexpensive one my DH surprised me with. So, all of my (comparatively) expensive key chains end up being bag decorations.

That wasn't very nice. Mine came with paper in the box around the dustbag.

I like your real feathers! I have the stars and the pave feathers fobs, but I never thought of putting them together. They definitely add some pizazz to a bigger bag. I like clips for ease of moving things around. I'm afraid of storing my bags with extra metal attached in case it scratches or dents them.

See, this is what I had been planning, with the feather and dino going on my "Lucky" bag (indeed, iyr, my "lucky themed" bag). ...

Skull is gone (daughter and I don't do skulls) and will be stored away. The extra loops you see on the skull are the jump rings that were originally on the record player and headphones.

Head phones and record player are now hung by dark metal split rings, then onto the giant split ring, and a spare Coach tag added. I'll hang this onto one of daughter's bags, as soon as she picks.

The reason I switched the headphones and record player off the jumprings and onto split rings, is because I tend not to trust jump rings unless their metal is a thick enough gauge. A lot of Coach's silver or gold colored keyrings do use strong gauge, but .... these are thinner, and with thinner, you have to keep an eye on them in case they jiggle their way open. The heaviness of the individual charms, combined with the thinness of the jump rings, and combined further with the thinness of the bails on the charms (meaning that the jump ring would not have to open far before a charm could find its way off) ... well, that's why I switched to split rings. Daughter can jiggle this keyring like a tamborine, and the charms will never leave. (Note, I did not do this on the dino's jumpring, because for some reason, they actually decided to solid-weld the dino's ring .... which is best anyway.)

And on the dino/feather (which has always been my ultimate goal), I slipped another split ring onto the lobster claw, then attached that (as you would normally attach any split ring) to the ring that originally held the giant split ring (the giant split ring that is now the base of daughter's keyring). That comprises my subtle safety chain. You barely notice it's there, but if that infamous screw that anchors the lobster claw ever comes out, the only thing that would be lost, would be the screw itself.

Thank you! I wanted just a bit of sparkle since the bag itself is very matte, along with the darkness of the gunmetal.

Yours looks great!

I LOVE peacock feathers. They're like bacon .... you can add them to anything, and it only gets better. :D

Hee!! True! This blue just seemed to ask for that feather, and the best part is that when it starts to look a bit worn, there are always more at the craft store for $1. It's so lightweight that I just hung it on the ballchain without fear of it being too much for it to bear. The ones I got (2 per bag) have a loop at the top, ready to hang on something.

So smart! I too get nervous about charms; I put my leather feather from my Dakotah on another jump ring, and even so, I check it a few times a day because Im a little paranoid the keychain might jangle too much and cause the ball chain to come apart....
