See, this is what I had been planning, with the feather and dino going on my "Lucky" bag (indeed, iyr, my "lucky themed" bag). ...
Skull is gone (daughter and I don't do skulls) and will be stored away. The extra loops you see on the skull are the jump rings that were originally on the record player and headphones.
Head phones and record player are now hung by dark metal split rings, then onto the giant split ring, and a spare Coach tag added. I'll hang this onto one of daughter's bags, as soon as she picks.
The reason I switched the headphones and record player off the jumprings and onto split rings, is because I tend not to trust jump rings unless their metal is a thick enough gauge. A lot of Coach's silver or gold colored keyrings do use strong gauge, but .... these are thinner, and with thinner, you have to keep an eye on them in case they jiggle their way open. The heaviness of the individual charms, combined with the thinness of the jump rings, and combined further with the thinness of the bails on the charms (meaning that the jump ring would not have to open far before a charm could find its way off) ... well, that's why I switched to split rings. Daughter can jiggle this keyring like a tamborine, and the charms will never leave. (Note, I did not do this on the dino's jumpring, because for some reason, they actually decided to solid-weld the dino's ring .... which is best anyway.)
And on the dino/feather (which has always been my ultimate goal), I slipped another split ring onto the lobster claw, then attached that (as you would normally attach any split ring) to the ring that originally held the giant split ring (the giant split ring that is now the base of daughter's keyring). That comprises my subtle safety chain. You barely notice it's there, but if that infamous screw that anchors the lobster claw ever comes out, the only thing that would be lost, would be the screw itself.
