I'm in my early/mid twenties. Those do not appeal to me at all!
I'm thinking more high school/University age...so you're right about the late teens and really early twenties! I couldn't imagine any of the twenty-thirty year olds I know wearing any of those designs (But of course, we all have our own social group...so perhaps another social group my age might LOVE these designs!)

Agreed. :p

So, I asked my husband what he thought about the models...he shrugged and said, "Don't all models look like that?"

That's what I thought too. About the models.

Maybe they don't smile because they have bad teeth. Do you ever watch the model competition shows? It can be a little sad. :p

I don't mind if Coach goes in a bunch of different directions, as long as the quality is good. I get bored with premier designers when all their bags are the same general style.

A totally different collection introduced every quarter would be cool, IMO. I have no idea if the consumer population would agree, though. For a consumer who buys a bag once a year, it may make sense.

What keeps me coming back to Coach is price point and quality. Knowing that, I pick and choose the styles I like. I don't have to like everything to like the brand.

LOL... they posted the pics from the show on the Coach site... would have been nice if they fixed the Red-eye in the pics...

Seeing the bags though, I'm starting to like them more and more... just not a fan of the presentation...

I read an article on models for the runway and it sounds like the models are told not to smile. They say that a lot of people smile strange, or different or not great teeth and this way they all look the same.Designers want androgyny and no one of the models to stand out, basically they said they want them as "clothes hangers" so that their designs stand out and not the models.

Makes sense. The one in your avatar looks like a mannequin.

Haven't bought a Coach since the 90's, but I saw the fashion show. I really liked a few of the bags and the clothing. Interesting that everyone is complaining so much about how the models look (they're models) and the collection. Looks very Midwestern rustbelt cities (Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland) inspired. This is just a edgy collection for Coach (which I personally think its good), its not like its the only thing that will be coming out in the fall.

I think it's great, too.

ROFL! I'm from one of those rust belt cities and I've never seen anyone dressed like that!
I agree with you about not the only thing that will be coming out in the Fall, though, so there is hope for those of us who aren't smitten by these designs. :smile1: I sure hope so because, by Fall, I might be able to afford another bag....

The look is definitely androgynous...but what's up with the hair?? :p

I am waiting for Michael Kors show this week...I know I will see some glam & bronzer at that show! LOL

I was wondering about the hair as well and thinking maybe it is cool not to wash my hair anymore and go for that look. On the bright side, it would add some much needed time to my mornings! :p

I said it looks inspired by rust belt cities not how people dress. Look at the background images and what the models are wearing. Hues on the clothes (black, orange, red, brown, white) is like november, the various metal hardware and studs on the bags/clothes are like old factories, and thick/bulky clothing are for the harsh winters that they receive.

Like I said I really like the collection and look forward to the release of them.

Me, too! I love the edgy, metallic look of some of the bags!

It seems like whenever a new collection comes out, the initial reaction is overwhelmingly negative, but then people actually see the bags and start to come around.

I can't wait to see that whipstitch bag in person!

Ah yes, that I can see! Good points! :smile1:
