Another problem for Coach is that these little detail leather bags are competing with much less expensive brands. For example, I have a Fossil reissue flap bag that I bought for $97 (on sale) that is pretty similar to a Patricia at 1/3 the price even with PCE. In the past I paid a premium for details that I could get from Coach bags that I couldn't find in other lines. I did buy the colorblock duffle last PCE because of the extra pocket and I didn't have anything like it. I don't see myself buying more.

Recently I was told by an SA that FP have been instructed to really-really push the Legacy line. It is nice but I do not think they should put all of their eggs in one basket. Afterall, not everyone has the same taste...it is Madison for me!

Interesting. What, Legacy has been on the floor less than a month? - and I bet it's not dragging in crowds off the street. I honestly think only members of TPF are bombarding customer service with questions about each new release - and "we" are probably the only ones considering 4 or 5 new styles or colors of the new line.
Economy still isn't great in any part of the country.......
This is probably why they threw in this upcoming PCE - to drive up business.
Incidentally - my SA told me it's actually a "CCE"... does anyone know what that means?

I don't know about this. After talking to one of my friends at the FP store the legacy is doing extremely well and she said their store is well surpassing madison in popularity/sales.

I think this "classic" hippie boho look is definitely in right now. A lot of the grunge Seattle crowd girls wear a lot of the true Coach classics. Its a great look and I'm so excited legacy has launched :woohoo:

I agree with this. The last few times I've been in the FP, it's been pretty dead. I haven't seen anyone actually browsing the legacy section (which is now 80% of the boutique, if not more).

And two percent off promotions in less than a month? I'm shocked.

I'm 5 hours south of Austin. I know a lot of grunge/hipster types through high school friends who are musicians, young women who are very bohemian, and while I can see them shopping downtown looking for secondhand classic Coach type stuff, there's no way they'd be caught dead at The Domain or Barton Creek shopping for FP Coach.

On the other hand, I live just a few miles from Mexico, and both the La Plaza and Sunrise malls get lots of business from Mexican shoppers. These women like labels and will go into a shop and drop thousands upon thousands without blinking. Like I said above, the FP boutique I usually go to is pretty dead lately. I'm at the mall every one to two weeks, sometimes more than once a week.

I think Legacy is appealing to a younger crowd that the usual (old farts like me) who have been buying Coach all these years. And that assures the future of the brand.

Do I like all these brightly colored duffles? No. Does my daughter and her friends love them? YES!!

So there ya go.

I just hope Coach doesn't lose sight of those of us who foot the bill! Because if Legacy is all that there is from here on out, I aint setting foot into a FP store ever again. And that means DD sure isn't getting Coach purses anytime soon either!

Interesting point. I teach high school. I'll report back in a few weeks when I see what the girls are carrying. :smile1:

However, I was at FP today and got my 17yo DD a universal case because she keeps going shopping with me in outfits that have no pockets, which is a huge problem if we go to separate stores and need to call each other, and I've forgotten she stowed her phone in my bag. Out of all the choices on site and online, she chose a black Madison case.

She didn't look at any of the legacy stuff, either. Maybe she's goth. LOL

I LOVE the new Legacy too! I honestly don't know how it's doing in the CA Bay Area, but will get some input from the San Francisco Flagship boutique when I visit this week.
I was just thinking out loud:smile1:

For sure! Seattle loves this look! :)

Count me in as an "old fart" (although, I don't consider myself an "old fart", albeit being well over 50) - and I LOVE the new colored duffles - as well as most of the new Legacy line - much more than anything I've purchased in the past 2 years. Simple, classics, "boho", archival, vintage feel.... I love that Coach has gone 'back to their roots' - and quality is back in the right direction.
