Well, I am officially annoyed with Coach! I received the VIP invitation to the FOS (for the first time ever) on Wednesday, which was my husband's birthday. I had been agonizing over a new briefcase for him and had actually bought 2 bags but I felt uncertain about them both. When I saw the black Bleecker briefcase on the FOS I instantly knew it was the right bag, so I ordered it along with a few small items. I gave my husband a picture of the bag in a card and told him that it was on order - and he was fine with that.

I was thrilled on Thursday to receive a "ship confirmation" notice from Coach, but surprised that it didn't include a tracking number, but I was pleased to know that his gift was heading this way. The notice said "Hope you love it, your package is on its way".

This morning I called customer service to ask about the delivery status and tracking number but I was transferred around and finally told that "You didn't receive a tracking number because it hasn't manifested yet." So I asked "What does that mean?" and the answer was "It has been prepared for shipping but it hasn't begun movement yet."

I said "You mean that my order is still sitting in Jacksonville!? Why did you send me a shipping confirmation notice if it hadn't shipped yet!?" And the lame answer was "Because it has been prepared for shipping". (So they should have sent a "prepared for shipping" notice, not a "shipping confirmation" that says "its on its way").

I said "So when will it actually ship and when can I expect to receive it?" and the even lamer response was "It may begin movement as early as Monday and you will receive a tracking number at that time; shipping takes 5 to 7 days but that doesn't include the weekend". (And I sure hope that UPS doesn't celebrate the President's Day holiday!)

So I am disappointed, I thought that it was in transit and it hasn't budged, maybe he will receive his gift in time for his next birthday! At least I hope that "prepared for shipping" means that they actually have my items and that I don't receive a backorder notice next!

Sorry for your frustrations. FOS always takes longer to ship than the boutique coach site. I don't know where you live but if it is on west coast like me I never get anything in less than 7 days. If you are signed up with UPS they will have exact notifications on your item being shipped to you. But usually in my case it is 3 days it is still in jax. Your husband will get it soon. If you have an email saying shipped it is very rare that FOS doesn't ship an item if it was in stock still.

Okay, I can see why you're frustrated!

Just to share with you, and hopefully lessen your disappointment -- Last week was MY first invite to the online FOS also...I ordered just TWO items -- the dark Bonnie Cashin Tote and the matching small wristlet. There were NO shipping notices of any kind, although I think I did get a confirmation of sale notice.

It arrived in less than one week, but ONLY the tote arrived! When I called customer service immediately, I got a very friendly phone rep who apologized and promised to expedite my missing wristlet. It DID arrive soon afterwards, so at least they stood by their promise.

But the entire FOS website has major quirks and glitches and freezes up constantly -- and since they messed up with a simple order of two items (I think Stoners work in Shipping), I'm not eager to buy from them, if they even let me return! It seems the really good stuff sells out instantly, due to the high discounts and the items that linger on are either "undesirable" or still too pricey.

Not sure if that reassures you at all, but ultimately they made good on their sale -- so you should be okay, albeit on THEIR schedule though! Like I said, I believe Stoners are running that warehouse, in my humble opinion.

PS. Keep us updated and I hope your hubby likes his gift!

Thank for the kind words. I have purchased items on the FOS in the past and have received them both quickly and slowly and once an item was deleted as out of stock after it I received confirmation of my purchase!

So I am used to the inconsistencies of the FOS, but it was a let down to not have a gift for my husband on his birthday, even though he didn't mind. And they really got my hopes up when they sent the ship confirmation so quickly - so I was disappointed to discover that my order was still in JAX! Hopefully it will arrive next week and everything will be in nice condition.

I don't usually have trouble with the FOS web site - except when I try to view it on my IPad or IPhonel; that's very frustrating and I usually give up. But it usually works with my PC and Internet Explorer. Are you using a PC or a Mac? What browser are you using? Maybe try a different browser for the next sale, good luck.

Of course you have great taste! Several of the jewelry items that tempted me were sold out before I got on, and before I saw the free shipping offer. I put the tea rose pearl charm bangle in my cart but then I found a listing on ebay that shows it on a wrist, and it looks huge, so I think I'm going to pass. My wrists are kind of small. Too bad, I really wanted to take advantage of the free shipping!
Oh no - that was one of the pieces I ordered! I should have checked eBay but didn't think to do it :sad:
In the time it took for the kinks to get worked out of the system (to let me add more than 3 pieces of jewelry), some of the ones I wanted were sold out.... Oh well, I don't have super tiny wrists so maybe it will work! At least, adding that bangle put me at the 25% off on the tiered coupon, so it did have one benefit even if it doesn't work out :biggrin:

Update: Luckily the bangle looks really nice on me, probably one of the better items I ordered.... my wrists aren't extremely small (probably medium if I have to classify them) and it looks perfect! I will be returning a few of the jewelry items that didn't work, and still on the fence about the tea rose ring set. They're a little uncomfortable and large while wearing all 3 at once, but they are so pretty. I can see wearing two most of the time, and 3 for a special outing :smile:

That's great news! I wonder if I should have chanced it. They probably won't be offering free shipping on next FOS even if they have any more bangles.

True, but if you hated it there would be a hassle to return it... sometimes it's better to go with your gut! Because I placed a larger order I got the 25% off tiered discount, so it was easier to justify the add-ons that I wasn't sure of! Ordering just one wouldn't get you the same discount, so I totally understand!

True - I am a little worried about the delicate details too, but the bangle was $29.25 and the ring set ~$21.35 (breaking down to $7 each), so I justified it by looking on what I've spent on "junk" jewelry from Express or J.Crew, etc. that doesn't last more than a year, and that made it easier :smile: I probably won't wear these daily (lots of typing at a computer bangs up bracelets too much), more on weekends for dressy or casual, so if a pearl ever falls out, I would try to find it or replace it if possible :shocked:
I also got the "day dreamer" bracelet (with the mini Rexy, feather, headphones, etc.) and even if I don't wear it much, I plan to loop it around a bag strap as a "purse charm." For $37 it is definitely cheaper than most of the bag charms out there with Rexy on them!

I agree on the bags - I wanted one of the bandana-stud Mercers or totes, but didn't go for it. Maybe if they are ever more than 50% off I would have grabbed one :smile: I did grab the Loganberry Borough in nappa leather but I'm just worried about the potential wear to the corners that people have mentioned about their boroughs. It was slightly over $100 which is a great price, but it will make me sad to see the corner color wearing off!

When I signed up the message read that the next event is not until 3/1. Should I wait until then or does it matter? Also where can I find these coupons I keep hearing about...lol. Thank you!

The next online event isn't until March 1. If you just signed up, you might not get an invitation to the sale. If there is a promotion for the online sale, you don't need a coupon to get the promotion. If you have a local outlet, you can shop there. There are no coupons currently. The last one was sent in email to people who were signed up. Sometimes there are coupons that are only sent to specific people, and sometimes they are sent in regular mail. When you go to a physical outlet, they often hand out coupons there.
