We went to the Jessica McClintock outlet in San Francisco today and at least every other purse was Coach signature. Maybe even more. I liked wearing my Legacy Shoulder Bag in Whiskey! I did see more black on black sig this time, normally I see more khaki when I'm out. But, I would say probably 75% of the sig bags I saw were fakes. :-( And some were REALLY bad fakes.

I mentioned in the outlet thread that I was at the Vacaville Coach outlet today (after being in SF) and a woman was carrying a hideous fake denim patchwork swingpack. It was so ugly, and then had a denim signature back, no patchwork on the back. I think my mouth dropped open to see that in the actual Coach store.

Yup..even when my DH was in Seattle..he was telling me..too bad u don't carry Coach...it's everywhere..kind of "easy" to buy coach for me..LOL...but he didn't get what I really wanted..b'cos he is too caught up with his biz meetings...

upswife - I was in union square yesterday too - ugh - it was like a sea of fakes, ridiculous. I did spot a few nice legacy bags though and was oh, so proud.
We took a group of 16 year old girls (very wealthy, btw) and even one of them had a fake!

Coach is really popular where I live. See it everywhere, but I would say that probably 50% of it is fake. Where in the heck do these women find all of this fake Coach. Is there some secret fake warehouse I don't know about?

Purse parties too in their town. I know that's how it is here. I always ask whenever I see a coach, Chanel, LV in my store when I'm checking the person out, "Oh I love your bag where'd you get it?" And they ALWAYS reply with "Oh my friend has these purse parties and I got it really cheap, or I got it in NYC." Never has one of them been real.

I kinda hate that about Coach, I don't want people to look at my bag an ASSUME it's fake (but I guess that's what I do to others LOL, but I ask so...)

The Chanel cambon totes are really popular in my town. You can buy them at the tanning salon for $50. LOL

And they all walk around with their noses in the air thinking they have some real designer purse. Ick.

I just want to kick 'em.

Too funny that you were in the area! If we had time, we were going to go to Union Square and I wanted to go to the Coach store on Post, but the dress shopping took SOOOO long.

My kids go to private school - some kids are wealthy, some middle class (like us). My own children (including my boys) know how to spot a fake and they know who carries fakes at school. I've also taught several of the high school kids I teach through a church bible study how to spot fakes. LOL They all love looking at my Coach stuff when they are over. My daughter was actually given a fake by a friend once for her birthday. If you search for "death of a fake", you can see pic's from when I put it out of it's misery. ;-)

I live in Ontario and I only see a few people here and there with a Coach bag. I see alot of Gucci's and LV but not Coach. On Saturday night I was in the States and Coach was everywhere, I was amazed at how many bags I saw.

AMEN SISTA!

There are a lot of Coach bags here but I never noticed it till I started buying them! I live in a college town-- the other night when I was out at a club I saw four girls come in together, all perfect and gorgeous with perfect and gorgeous Coach bags-- the sorority set here LOVES Coach. Then I went to the Country Club to have drinks with my parents and their friends for my birthday this weekend and saw a group of girls walk in and they were all carrying Coach bags-- but it was too weird, they were all dressed up, and one girl was wearing a little black cocktail dress and carrying a signature stripe swingpack in khaki-blue. I twas like :wtf:? Anyway, that's all I've got! :smile1:

I am from Chicago and there are a lot of people carrying Coach too. I don't pay too much attention to the signature style too much (aka selective blindness) but when someone is carrying a nice legacy leather bag, I would just stare at their bag.

my 8 year old son always spots and points out ladies with Coach bags when we're out. and then he'll say, "and it's real too cause the c's line up":p
kids are quick learners...

I don't see tons of Coach bags where I live. I probably see the same amount of Coach bags as I do LVs, Kate Spades, etc.

I agree with those who post that this forum does make you more aware of the handbags that people are carrying. I will definitely say that as I have come to learn more and more by being on this forum, I definitely pay more attention to the purses that people carry.

But I have not seen anyone with my pond shoulder bag yet (or any Legacy bag for that matter). Almost all signature. So I feel kind of special in that way :yahoo:

yeah, same with me . There are so many coach bags every every every where around where i live. But i've noticed more now that most of them are fake, fake or also inspired coach what i call Goach. anyway i also noticed the whole car thing when i got my car. you realy do notice more.

I see them all the time too. Actually the only time I've seen the same bag as I had on someone else was a Coach black leather satchel that only the Coach stores got. It was odd for it to be THAT bag.

I still buy Coach but I also search for more obscure, unique bags.
