I love it! Honestly had a feeling you would pick that and was going to mention (but forgot) that it was such a different silhouette from the other tan bags you mentioned so glad you had a similar thought. Definitely sounds like you’ll enjoy it way more. I have multiple black bags but the 34 was different enough so didn’t feel like “ugh another black bag” (vs how I felt with the maple)

My coach store in Tampa has the 40 in Merlot with really good distressing as well as the 40and 48 in honey and maple if anyone is interested. I went in to take a spin today and I'm loving the pink quilted tabby and the sage chain tabby. I wish the sage chain tabby came in the larger size. Coach just wants all my money...My list keeps growing!

My Coach in Palo Alto has the 48s, too. I forgot what colors, I think Dark brown and Black. I briefly held the 48 and was surprised at how insanely heavy and huge it was. Beautiful bag, though.
I got the worse case of FOMO and ordered the 28 in black!
I feel that the Empire 48 is more of a travel bag than an everyday office or school or all purpose use bag.
I think so too, unless you're a very tall woman. Has anyone here used it yet for travel?
Being a 5 foot 5 inch guy, the Empire 40 is already pushing the limits of what I am comfortable dragging around LA between classes, errands, and home. But it's useful.
I actually only use the 48! But I'm a 6'1 guy, so it still feels BIG but not huge. I wouldn't bring it on a plane (too difficult to put in an overhead or under your seat due to its height), but I took the black on a road trip, and it was really great with lots of compliments.
I recently picked up a Merlot 48, I got super lucky with a local random restock. I exchanged my Maple 48 for it. I was going to use my Merlot for the first time today for a day trip, but I noticed a pretty obvious stitching issue. Unfortunately they are sold out everywhere, so if I want this color/size I'm kind of stuck with it. They offer warranty repair for stitching the first year, I just don't know if I want to send a brand new bag in for warranty work just yet lol.
I had this issue on another bag, the stitch ended up getting snagged by something and ripped the whole strand out
Customer service offered me 5% off to keep it. The rest of the bag is gorgeous, I'll just have to get this repaired somewhere down the line
I want the honey in 48 SO BAD, I'm just worried that as a travel bag, it will get so beat up lol. I had no idea they were even making this in 48 until my store told me. It's not on the website or anything.
