I've been shopping for a lot more Coach lately. I used to think they were ugly when all the designs had the logos all over. During that time I was all about Balenciaga, Chloe, Mulberry, Louis V epi & suhali.... but now that they are making more simple, sophisticated looking bags, and bringing back their retro styles I can't seem to get enough. Also the colors they're using on their leathers are just beautiful. I'd be surprised if you didn't see them everywhere since they're so lovely.

I also think that the word "classic" is a better representation than "common". I mean it's a rare woman who has never worn jeans & a tee shirt, the wardrobe staple of fashion models, but that probably doesn't make you want to get rid of all your jeans & tees, right? In fact a lot of women look positively chic in their jeans & tees. Since Coach is such a classic American brand most fashionable women buy one at some point. Just like at some point fashionable women buy a Burberry trench, an Hermes scarf, a Cartier tank watch, and black Louboutin pumps. Classics.

I tend to buy online exclusives most of the time. That way, maybe I'll have a more limited release bag.

Here in Tuscaloosa! Belk is the only store that carries Coach and their selection is pretty limited and the sales rarely happen. I don't have any factory outlet bags, just buy deletes from the outlet shops when I rarely get the chance to visit one. I just wait for the 25% off sales from the full price site.

I buy pilot bags and flagship bags...the kind of bags that the average person doesn't buy. It doesn't bother me as much if it hits the outlet a year after I bought it.

You can order pilot bags if you follow the season preview threads...folks post the item numbers etc. A current example is the Bleecker preston.

Flagship bags are bags like the pinnacle lizard andie that is coming...most people do not buy a $798 bag, from Coach or otherwise.

Well, damn aren't we feelin' special. This, coming from the person who stated in a thread last week that they wouldn't pay more than $600 for a Coach.

Haven't bought it yet, but I presume I'll be buying it with a PCE in which case, it would not be $798. I don't think I've ever bought a full price bag from them, why would you? They go on sale constantly and the offers are coming every week at this point. Since the Borough can't be discounted, I passed on it because I felt the price was too high for a plain vachetta leather bag, and I don't really feel I need to defend that opinion. I sure well can state that the majority in the Coach boards wouldn't pay full price for a bag and I count myself among them.

Coach is affordable, classy, and made pretty well aside from other cheap bas you can buy from forever21/ h&m, in addition, coach is carried by pretty much everyone in US, as well as everyone having at least one coach bag in their purse collection. At the end I also believe its a preference, and so what if everyone is carrying it? You buy the bag because you like it and it is well made, not because everyone has it is what I think. Yes I would love to get a higher brand like Chanel or Hermes, but that's just super expensive, and why spend so much when you can get a beautiful bag with quality that can last a very long time like Coach.
