Coach are yes It's very common here where I lived and at work 80% of my co workers are wearing Coach handbag...It doesn't bother me at all I think it's fun to see peoples choice of design and pattern of their choice:-) Since Coach is affordable and has a Outlet stores they are so becoming more/too common. But I do enjoy my two Coach bags when I wear them:-)

Well, for a brand to stay in business, they have to sell. So it's really unrealistic to expect access to nice, designer bags and for no one else to have said bags. Just cannot happen.

Let's just be honest here. When people say "this brand is too common" what they are suggesting is an annoyance that *anyone* can now access and afford the same bag as them. The horrors! No one will think you are important and special anymore for carrying Coach or MK! Now, if these people *really* wanted something truly unique, they'd order from a small designer or have something custom made. But then we have the same horrors, because no one will know that it's special, unique, and most important of all, elite. What these people are really searching for is a brand recognizable enough to be admired, but not accessible to the average person. Sorry, I know I'm being harsh, but I really don't have too much sympathy for people staring down their noses at the common folk.

I don't think you're being harsh, you sound like me.

I'm overworked and underpaid in a high stress post-college job, and if I have the excess funds to treat myself to something gorgeous from Coach, it makes me happy. If others are carrying it too, well, that just means they have excellent taste. I don't want handbags to be an elitist club. I want to know others around me love the brand too so we can dish.

I love this as it is so true!

I respect your reply 100%. I want to be clear that I was not "staring down my nose at the common folk." I see a lot of Coach handbags around my area and for me, they just don't seem to have the draw that they once did [because of being visible everywhere].

Nailed it right there.

It's so true...

Yes they have saturated the market and therefore have cheapened their label by over production and factory bags...it does not mean much to own one any longer. Every high school girl carries one. I've moved on from Coach ( I probably have about 12 Coach bags) -the last 2 bags I bought ( preowned) are an LV Speedy and a Fendi spy bag..now saving for a Balenciaga

I'm not sure exactly what the brand of handbag one is carrying is supposed to mean other than you like the bag and it is functional to you. If it's to convey status, no mass produced brand is exclusive, even LV. I see many more LVs, real or fake, than any Coach. And most Coach I see is siggy that isn't my taste anyway. I've never seen anyone with the same bags I have, but doubt it would bother me. I buy bags I like, even $69 from Marshalls.

Obviously the brand does have the draw since they are visible everywhere.

Like KylaCove posted, I never see anyone with a Coach bag like mine. I only have two new/current ones....all the rest are vintage.

I got some very wise advise on this forum in a thread about this several years ago. The person (whom I don't think is on here much if at all) talked about why she bought coach bags.

She bought each bag because it was beautiful to HER! She lived the smell and feel of coach leather as opposed to LV coated canvas and each bag she purchased gave he great joy. Not because it made a statement (although many of her stunners did), but because she simply thought many of the coach bags were beautiful. The stood out to her in some way either in terms of design or functionality.

I try to follow get advice and buy bags I really love and will want for many years. I rarely return and I M not about quantity. I really don't cate how many bags I have as long as I really like them all.

Point being, I don't care if they're common. It isn't a contest.i care about the bags that make me happycc

Hmm, I don't know where you're located, but for me, this brand has been supersaturated years ago? But that doesn't really bother me; why can't others have the same things as we enjoy? And if something is nice, and of quality material (and possibly by a recognizable brand), then it's naturally going to attract a lot of people. The more the merrier (as long as Coach keeps their quality up)!

Ok I will voice out my own opinion here not hating but just saying....:-)
About the "common" ..It's not about the brand It's more on Female mentality how they carry them self how they are wearing more expensive than the other girls. We do not noticed something until we have them like car, clothing, and etc. We just have to face it we are female we do dress up to impress sometimes or most of the time not to impress the guy next door but mostly we dress up for competition, we dress up and wear our nice sunglasses and expensive purse to be more noticable to others...sadly some women think that they are better coz they are wearing more luxury than the other person...and I do feel sorry for those people who judge because of that. Buttom line..is Coach common? Yes... Do I really care? No! I've been reading the thread and it's more like a B..ch Fest than a question and answer portion:-) Have a great day ladies!
This is not a brain surgery....It's a Coach bag:-)

Morning :smile1: I should have clarified...they don't have the "draw that they once did" for me personally.
