About the "common" ..It's not about the brand It's more on Female mentality how they carry them self how they are wearing more expensive than the other girls. We do not noticed something until we have them like car, clothing, and etc. We just have to face it we are female we do dress up to impress sometimes or most of the time not to impress the guy next door but mostly we dress up for competition, we dress up and wear our nice sunglasses and expensive purse to be more noticable to others...sadly some women think that they are better coz they are wearing more luxury than the other person...and I do feel sorry for those people who judge because of that. Buttom line..is Coach common? Yes... Do I really care? No! I've been reading the thread and it's more like a B..ch Fest than a question and answer portion:-) Have a great day ladies!

When I see something I like, I buy it (within budget/reason). I've walked into stores like LV/Gucci and have had the sales ppl compliment the Coach bag I was carrying. It all comes down to what you love and how you present that which you love. Same thing with everything else. Just because the blog gives me 5 reasons why I should own a speedy, doesn't mean that I'm going to buy it because I simply don't love it enough to.

IMO, it's definitely a brand familiarity thing. I just bought a new Explorer, and of course I now notice them everywhere. Coach is becoming increasingly popular in my area, but it's mostly the factory bags that scream Coach. People like the association with brand name and quality. I can't say anything - when I first started buying Coach, I bought the glaringly obvious Coach bags with the signature Cs because I wanted everyone to know I had a Coach bag. Eventually I came to admire the quality of Coach rather than the aesthetics, and now almost all my Coach bags are largely unrecognizable to the average eye but for the tiny Coach logo and fob. So I get excited when I see the occasional Coach that wasn't made for factory. And don't get me wrong...I'm not snobbing the MFF bags. Most of my bags are MFF or deletes, lol.

I know what you mean. I never go to the LV forum because that's not my thing; I have no interest in that brand but I wouldn't go over there and bash it. I have gone to other forums of bags that I like but cannot afford such as Tod's; I just read. I also like Balenciaga jackets and go there to read and look but never post--I can't afford one. I sure never see posts like this in those forums. It's very odd that people think it's OK to come to COACH and rip on it.

I agree! I'll try to change the discourse...

Isn't it awesome that Coach is so popular? It really warms my heart to see that so many women from college girls to middle managers (like me!) to stylish matriarchs all have such great taste! I love that Coach is a brand that can appeal to so many women across such a broad spectrum and always have something new on the horizon.

This may be the case for some, but I think this is somewhat unfair. Other than the classic vintage bags, I have NEVER in my (gulp) 22 years of buying Coach had anyone even recognize a bag I had as being Coach. Other than signature bags, many people can't even identify Coach so how would that serve the purpose of impressing the person next door with luxury? Many ladies appreciate the quality and the design and appreciate the tradition of Coach.

Maybe Coach is more common because it has been around for 73 years.

Abwd...I just write here how I feel about the thread...and my purpose is not to hurt anyone's feelings and if I do...I'm sorry:( I do like Coach and I do not even care if they are too common, not so common. I do believe that Coach has a great reputation and Quality I'm proud carrying my Coach when I wear them. My point on my previous comment is why bother asking 10000xxx women if this brand is too common. Or becoming common? Yes they are common for me.. but thats nothing wrong with that. Coach is a great brand..

I agree completely and appreciate that. If people are worrying about Coach being too common, than maybe they are not looking at all of the special features that make many of us love Coach.

What I love so much about Coach is that there really is something for everyone- from the higher end pinnacle leather bags, to the mid-priced leathers, to the smaller, more on trend bags, to the signature prints, to the neutrals and vibrant colors.

Most other designers do not have a spectrum this broad. Most of their bags all look alike with slight variations in design.

That is why I love Coach items so much. I have many, and no two are a like. :amuse:
