Those paperworks are useless to me
Authenticity are far more important
I buy to use not challenging customs or bringing to store for justifying authentication
Anything can replica nowadays
Those knockoffs makers can do wonders

Thanks for replying! I was reading back the thread and I guess most concern with it is traveling with the purse. i want to be able to travel with it and not be concerned that customs will look for paperworks.

It depends on where you live, and where you plan on traveling to, and which kind of leather. Some countries consider carrying less than 4 exotic items for non commercial purposes in your luggage as "personal effects" (as long as they're not in the Endangered schedule within CITES) and don't require import/export permits. H always recommends that you apply for a permit so you never run into customs issues, but in practice, it really depends where you're going.

Does anyone have any experience traveling to China with their exotics? I have a trip coming up and am considering bringing my CDCs with me. I have the cites but am not sure if that will be sufficient as I heard that China might have banned exotics entirely? I tried to find more info online to no avail. I'm only going to be there for a few days so I'm not "importing". Has anyone been there lately and has up-to-date info or how it is going through the custom with luxurious goods in general to share -- am also thinking about what bags I should travel with.

TIA.

Does anyone have details on bringing back a croc handbag purchased abroad? What is the full duty rate? Is CITES the certificate you get with the purchase of an exotic? Do I need that? Is the bag ever confiscated?
Separately, has anyone ever been challenged when they traveled back to the US with an exotic bag they already purchased in the US? Should you travel with the CITES certificate?
