Need help! DH in HK getting a croc CDC for me. H Manger said the receipt is good enough with the listing of the type of skin & no need photocopy of Cites. The real Cites needs to apply.

But in the US, we get the photocopy of the Cites folded inside the box when making the purchase. Then we can apply US fish & wildlife permit if we want to travel aboard.

Is this what it is in Asia? No photocopy of Cites like this?

Can we getting a Cites after the purchase??
Should H boutique have a file containing all Cites documents with what they are going to sell to the customers?

I would not leave that store without a Cites Certificate especially if you are coming back to US. Are you purchasing this directly from Hermes if so they are required to provide you with the Cites.

Even my lizard bracelet had to have CITES paperwork with the new legislation and I wasn't travelling (home store/not going anywhere)

Not sure about Hong Kong. In China, they do not issue photo copy of CITES because it seems to be the customer who applies for CITES. However, they will give you a Chinese equivalent certificate of CITES. They told me I can come back to US with no problem but actually I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Yes. It was from one of the largest one in HK. DH visited 5 out of 7 boutiques to find my gator CDC!! After I text him we should have Cites to bring back home. He ended up return & get money refunded (same day). Don't wanna take the risk at custom without proper documents. I'm so Sad without this coming home with him [emoji24] IMG_1491306691.055675.jpg

Hi there! That Manager in HK said that they only provide the photocopy for exotic bags only. No need for CDC. Receipt is good enough.... But when I check the Fish & Wildlife Service website, in order to apply our own Cites permit (to travel, import / export) we must need to provide the CITES photocopy that belongs with the exotic leather article + the receipt to prove our purchase. www.fws.gov

I'm so sorry you weren't able to bring the CDC home perhaps there's one in the states you can purchase with the CITES and worry free for you.

Yes, tons of gator CDCs in the US, no need to import :)
FYI, bought a lizard kawaii the other day and yes, even tiny pieces of lizard have CITES.

Wish me Luck!!! Mentioned this situation to my SA here in the US & confirmed it's better to have the Cites....hopefully there will be the same one (or BE) showing up !!!

I definitely want a worry-free purchase, especially it'll DH going through the custom. He'd be so pissed off if something went wrong!

Hello, I have a friend who's bought me an H bag in Hong Kong. No CITES or paperwork with it, except for an invoice. Next time I go to HKG, would I be able to pick it up and travel out of the country with it? I will be taking back to my home in Doha.

Those paperworks are useless to me
Authenticity are far more important
I buy to use not challenging customs or bringing to store for justifying authentication
Anything can replica nowadays
Those knockoffs makers can do wonders
