S. Fl/ Miami - i found a cobbler in Miami ! I was ready to give up and just drop my shoes off at santana creative in miami (which apparently is just a drop off location - they mail them to NC), and as i was dropping them off, the lady behind the counter noticed my hesitation - i hated the idea of mailing them - couldn't they get lost?! Since I was really apprehensive, she said first check out Bridget's shoe repair on miracle mile, they do good work and it's done at the shop. They didn't have many reviews on yelp, but I thought I'll at least go check them out, and if I'm still not convinced, I'll just come back to santana creative. It's a small shop, but when they showed me a pair they had done-i was impressed! I dropped off 2 pairs of brand new bianca's, and am super happy with the results! I dropped them off last Saturday, and picked them up yesterday, so within a week (even with labor day weekend in the middle). He charged $30/pair for half soles, and they use the red vibram rubber soles.

Back in 2011, I went to Fortuna's based off a recommendation from this thread. I warn you, do not make the same mistake I did.

DO NOT take your beloved CLs to Fortuna's in Bethesda, MD!

From their website and pictures posted, they had me sold. (Not sure if their website is still the same)

When I dropped off my Simples, I remember the gentlemen showed me a two different colors. There was one that was on the orange reddish side, but he reassured me that a darker sole would be put on and would closely match the original sole.

It took about a week. The day they were ready, I was excited to get my shoes back!!! When I picked them up, I was in a hurry so I just opened the box to make sure my shoes were in there and quickly left.

When I got home I inspected my shoes. The "red" rubber sole was more of an orange color. (The one I was reassured he wouldn't use) It did not match the original red sole at all. They cut too much of the original sole off and they even messed up the Christian Louboutin logo by cutting into it. There was dried up glue still on my shoe. I was so disappointed.

I contacted Fortunas and explained to them why I was unhappy and they told me to bring them back. This would be my third time going back to that place for these shoes. A week later, and my fourth visit to Fortunas... the rubber sole was darker however nothing could be done with the messed up logo engraving... and there was still dried up glue everywhere on my shoe.

I am completely unhappy with the end product and service of Fortunas. Do not go here if you're thinking of adding rubber soles to your designer shoes!!! They will mess them up!

Sorry it took me years to post this. I have been on a long hiatus. Randomly scrolled through my Yelp reviews and thought of tPF.

I rarely post these days but I thought I'd share a before and after!

I found the shoes for next to nothing at a high end resale shop and I'd always intended to send them to London or Paris to have MM7 replace the insole and then maybe do a glitter DIY. I was nervous to ship them internationally and deal with customs, so instead I chose to send them to Santana Creative for an insole replacement. I never thought they could do anything about the logo and I couldn't find any images to help give me an idea of what the finished repair would look like. I was nervous to see how the finished product would turn out, but I had absolutely no reason to be nervous.

Cost of repair (not including shipping): $30

I know some may not like the patched logo, but this is certainly a good and less expensive (and headache free) alternative to shipping your shoes internationally.

I've had nothing but good experiences with my cobbler in Midtown Manhattan. I did my research on Yelp before going there and had read some negative reviews about the Leather Spa. I don't know if they are true or not, however, I like the fact that I can wait for my Vibram soles to be applied rather than dropping my shoes off and having to pick them up a few weeks later.

He not only applies them correctly (doesn't cover the Louboutin signature or any other horrible things I've seen on other shoes done by other cobblers), but I think you can mail your shoes there too.
It cost about $38 with the sales tax for the half red Vibram sole.

They do close early on Fridays and are closed on weekends because they are in an office building.

Hi! I've looked searched through this thread and unable to find any recommendations for a cobbler in the Vancouver/Vancouver Area (Canada). I just bought a pair of Simple Pumps and would love to add a red sole for protection.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! If you don't have a good cobbler in your area and don't know how to repair your shoes - you can visit FixYourShoes.com
We offer professional shoe repair service by mail. You can also buy some replacement soles there. Go ahead and take a look at some before/after photos to see our skills.

Thank you

i bought the very prives in black patent leather in 36.5 they were too big but i thought heel grips would fix it and took it on vacation with me. on vacation the heel pads did not work but these shoes were for this specific outfit. i made do by adding foot petals- basically did not work too well either. can't return the shoes. i live in Nyc- leather spas website says they can add half pads under the insole- what does this mean has anyone had this done before with success? anyone know how i can fix these to fit??

Hi Ladies,
Any recs for a cobbler in Fort Worth to get the red vibram done on the front bottom? I searched and found a few in Dallas, but I'm lazy, so I'll keep it closer to home if I can.
Thanks a bunch :)

Hey I can answer for Fort Worth, TX...and Dallas....DFW.

I take my shoes to the Fort Worth Neiman Marcus....they send them off to Deno of Highland Park. They will put the Red soles on and your shoes will look perfect. Then they get sent back to NM and your sales person will call you up. You can cut out the middle man and just ship them to Deno if you like. But I like that the sales person tracks and answers questions for them and makes sure they are right.
I have had many shoes repaired by them. The best around here.
I have used a guy off Camp Bowie...where La Madeline is....across from European Skin Care Institute. He was okay...you have to be very specific with him.

Just to let you all know that Minuit Moins 7 in London has put the prices up for the half red rubber sole :( instead of £25 british pounds it's now £40! Unreal. Waiting time is also upto 2 months. I'm considering trying Hoxton shoe repair instead..

Hello Ladies! So grateful for this forum. You really get so much helpful information on our beloved fashion treasures. These are my Decoltissimo pumps that I wear practically everyday. They are the perfect work pump and super comfy! So of course wear and tear happens on a much more speedy basis. For the nappa leather shoe owners, can these issues be fixed? The pointy toe tip styles seem to always become an issue for me with wear and also the heel due to sidewalk cracks, bumping, etc. So any feedback on maintenance to these babies will be much appreciated!
