you'll be just fine, Aegis! I grew up there and just got used to it. You'll get alot of snow, but, all in all, its manageable. And hey, occasionally you'll have snow days and stay home from work!!! :yahoo:

Hong Kong
Groom Shoe Repair and Polish
Shop F, Melbourne Plaza, 33 Queen's Road C., Central, HK

This is the only one among the chain stores offering red sole and recommended by the boutique. Price is very reasonable at ~US$20 a pair and work is good.

This seems to be the only mention of good repair services in Hong Kong. Does anyone have any experience with them or any other shop in Hong Kong? If so would please share your experience/pictures? Thanks so much!!!

What should I do? ----
I just bought a pair and haven't worn them yet. Is it best to wear them and wear off the original bottom first (since from what I've read they scrape it off anyway) or should I have them treated beforehand?

THANKS

I know there's a good shoe repair place in Montreal Gare Centrale that does red sole they don't use the vibram rubber sole but use Toppy sole which is the same brand Carinthia uses. They also charge $25 a pair.

Hi! I'm also from Montreal, and was told by a SA at Rosenstein to call Carinthia Shoe Co, on St Marc Street, 514-935-8475

Instead of Vibram soles, they use Topy and as of fall 2010, charge $25/pair and they have red. http://www.topy.fr/en/Home

I can't speak of quality of work, as I just learned about them myself, but perhaps before you have your shoes re-soled you may wish to ask to see their other work.

Otherwise, you may wish to call Holts for another recommendation.

Let me know what you find -- I too need to have soles applied.
Cheers!

i definitely recommend rago brothers in morristown, nj, thanks to stinas!! i wish i had a before picture, because they were REALLY bad. they re painted, put in a new sole, and put vibrams on the bottom. They also left the "Christian Louboutin.. Made in Spain.. 37" like i asked. :D i'm so impressed. This picture doesn't really do them justice, they look better in person. i'm definitely going to take my other CL's & even bags to be fixed there.

CL at South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa, CA) referred me to Deluxe Shoe Repair in Newport (next to Fashion Island).

3 pairs done now and they fixed the heel I ruined on Halloween!
They're phenomenal and super friendly! I'd definitely recommend them for any Orange County Loubi lovers.

Does anyone have a cobbler they recommend that I can SHIP my shoes too that will fix leather scraped off the heels? I have TWO pairs that have the heels severly scraped (one shoe got stuck in my deck, one between cobblestones). I have sent a couple pairs to Cobblestone Shoe Repair for the soles....and I emailed them to see if they would fix my heels but I never heard back. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I had that exact issue corrected on my Pigalle 100s and they look fabulous now! Like new! I scrapped the leather off and they became discolored. They patched it and dyed them and you can't even tell now.

I would contact Deluxe Shoe Repair and see if they accept orders that are shipped in.
