Choosing VCA over Rolex

That’s was my point. Like I said in my comment, don’t get a Rolex just because it’s a Rolex.

A watch is a real preference. I love mine and considering a second.
I love Rolexes too. I am hooked on them, and it's my brand for watches. I know it's not for everyone, but I love my Roly. There is also a big Rolex following as many people are major collectors.

If you are considering a second one, I vote yes! I am sure it will be gorgeous on you.

Oh my God, you were reading my mind. I was reading a post from a watch forum and they were talking about Piaget. Yep, I was looking at the same model from Piaget and I will go try on.

So I will visit Chopard, Piaget , Cartier and Breguet.

Thanks again.
Glad to be of help! I love watches in general and agree with other ladies, your VCA pieces deserve a good watch next to them! Good luck and show us what you end up with!!! The steel piaget is a great watch I think, modern and elegant, and also at a good price point!

I had to laugh when you said "is there something wrong with me or with the watch?" Neither!! You just don't like Rolex watches.

But I wonder if maybe you're just not a watch person as much as you are a jewelry person? Since you've worn your functional Swatch for so long maybe a watch inherently won't feel as special to you as jewelry like your VCA does? Just one thought. Get whatever feels special and luxurious to you, because you're paying for it!

I said this "is there something wrong with me or with the watch?'' because I was doing my research on watches --- which brand to choose? and I saw some Youtubers' Rolex shopping vlogs and both men and women were so excited about getting a Rolex like they were on cloud nine. So I was kinda expect this reaction from myself.

I think I am a watch person as I wear my watch everyday. But definitely I am not a watch collector. Now I look back at all the watches I have ever bought, it was when the one I had broke down that I bought a new one. So I am a one-watch person. Don't know how my psychology works. I feel no desire to buy another one once I have a new watch after the old one broke down. But when it comes to jewelry or clothes or shoes, I do make new purchases from time to time.

Now I think I have no impulse to make a quick decision to buy a new watch because I am kinda waiting for this watch I have now to break down first.

Have you considered the JLC Rendezvous? My husband bought me the size 32(?) with a diamond bezel and it's quite feminine. Something about the details in the face reminds me of some of the VCA watches. I'll see if I can find a photo of it.

Thank you. I followed your advice and went to their website and had a look. Yes, watches in JLC Rendezvous collection are in round shape which I like a lot. The size is perfect. I will go to have a look in person. Just because I did not like their Reverso collection does not mean I won't like this JLC Rendezvous collection.

For a watch that’s good value for money and may have some weight, have you considered Seiko? I don’t have this brand but the design seems very straight forward.
I have to agree with the poster who said you are not a watch person, if you have looked at all these brands and not found something you like! Also, a watch being lighter does not always signify lower quality. It takes true craftsmanship to make a light, thin movement:smile:
So you may as well spend less on your watch and more on VCA items you love:heart:

Now I am in a tough position. I have my eyes on the Breguet entry level watch and this watch is priced similar to VCA lotus earrings, I can't have both at once so I am not sure whether to give up the watch or the earrings.

Looked at the Grand Seiko last year and didn't sing to me.

I do feel that I am more willing to purchase jewelry than watches. After having VCA for a long time, every time I wear it, I still feel my money well spent but I am not sure if I will feel the same for a high-end watch like Breguet. I need to try on the watch first, when I love something, I just know.

I actually very like the men watches from breitling especially premier collection but maybe one more steel/rg option with more feminine style for you
They also have chronomat collection with gold and diamonds.

If you don’t mind not having a date, hands down...JLC Reverso!!! I love JLCs but I need a date. They are stunning watches with a lovely Art Deco vibe.

Oh just saw you checked it out. Sorry it disappointed you.
Yes, I tried it on end of last year. I was not impressed, the finishing looks dull. I looked at the SA's version with no stickers on and it looked dull.

Thank you for the pic.

I went to the website and their watches are quite sporty at least in my opinion.
I will keep this brand in mind in case I would like to try on their watches.

Thank you.
