Sending best wishes, frou frou! Ugh regarding the smokey odor! That's kind of a sticky substance, so I wouldn't be surprised if it might take a few washing to reduce. One of mine that was preloved arrived with an unpleasant "eau de old perfume" :oh:, which lingered a bit after washing. Hesitant to hang it outside to air out, where who knows what could happen , I cut a square of Hermes scented shelf liner paper and placed that in with the shawl in its box. Did the trick, odor gone in a short amount of time.
They make H shelf paper? I would love some!:flowers:

I was going to post that I am awaiting some scarf mail for a new mousseline!! I can't wait to share pictures when it arrives!!:happydance: I got so excited about the shelf paper I forgot why I was posting here in the first place!

I am dying to see some of the Della C cws but it has not landed in NYC yet...at least not as of Tuesday!

The drawer liners from Hermès are Vetiver flavour, but I haven't seen them in store for a couple of years . I use Santa Maria Novella wax tablets in my scarf stash, my scarves are scented with their divine Pomegranite which is very fresh and totally unlike old scent flavour.
Can't wait to se your new mousseline, this thread is very enabling !

Oh that is so true about the big sizes. It's a major race against the clock with ironing them. (But everyone knows I love a challenge!) Despite that, I too prefer to care for my scarves myself and do find it meditative, when many other things are not! I'm also the same with clothes. I have a few that I just can't take care of myself (linen or extremely wrinkly white cotton!) and it's jut better for me to take those in. Cashmere- handwash. Silk- handwash. I do however, have a LOT of handwash....so I try to make myself do a couple at a time so they don't back up on me.

Happy for any excuse to show Quadrige! Love this one so much!

Love them both Bunnycat , I've never seen a changeant like your Rosée , it's amazing!

Lots of hand washing going on here, too, although many of the items can go in our front load washer on delicate. Also, lots of items I designate as "hang to dry" only, as so many keep their shape and last longer staying clear of the dryer!

Regarding the shelf liner, I hoping they still make it! Smells so gorgeous, and I'd like to get more. I keep forgetting to ask my SA if still available.

Ooh...that's a beautiful Quadrige colorway, I love its somber, moodiness! In fact I had the very same one in my hands at my boutique when first released, but dithered a bit, said no, called back after getting home...gone! :oh: Lesson learned! Yes, I can see it must be a subtle changeant, I don't think that registered when I saw it. Thanks so much for the pics, and so lovely as worn! :flowers:
etoile, if your SA finds a hidden cache, put me down for a box or three; I'm told it's been discontinued. :oh: I've not seen anything at H to replace it, and haven't found anything elsewhere that I like as much as that delicious vetiver scent (most are a bit too cloying and sweet for me). In the meantime, if you've a second choice to recommend, I'm looking for suggestions.....:flowers:

I replied to etoile too soon frou frou! Thanks for the suggestion; I see you and I are of the same mind regarding 'old scent flavour' and so I'm off to the Santa Maria Novella website....after I drool over a few more silk pics ;) Good luck with your project!

I can hardly wait to see it Julide!!! Scarf mail is so exciting!

Oh hopiko! I'm right there with you! I LOVE the Della C mousses. All the CW's look so nice (even the crummy online pics, that's why I fear they will be irresistible!) I hope they have the QC problems under control!

Thank you frou frou! It's true, La Rosee is amazingly special. There's only one thing that might be just quite as special, and I am currently awaiting its arrival.

Meanwhile- how goes the washing??? I went ahead and washed a couple more just for fun, including Quadrige, and will post pics here directly after I finish up with the Hermesmatic visit info....

Etoile- I always love reading through your thoughtful posts!

On shelf liner- frou frou says it is no longer produced but there's a nice back up. So I'm going to check out her suggestion.

I finally today, got to have my first trip to Scarf Heaven (Hermesmatic pop up) and it was SSOOOOOO good. :) There was so much to see and so much I know I missed, so I can understand how things get passed over in the boutique. And of course, the "too slow, now it's gone lesson". Yep....waaahhh. I was but a scarf brand newbie when Quadrige stole came out, and so I only had the pics posted on here to drool over. The peachy poudre-iris colorway looked amazing. it's no wonder I have never seen one for resale anywhere. No one would want to get rid of it!

Hello all  Will verify with my SA, but, gosh, will be sad if they stopped making it. Will keep you all in the loop. I bought 2 boxes several years ago, I love the scent! I'd used up the first box lining drawers and shelves. The paper is gorgeous and thick, and the scent delicious, but the fragrance did not last as long as I expected, so have used the second box sparingly! Certainly much better longevity in an enclosed space (like in a box), but much less so in drawers or on closet shelves. I've not found anything I like as well for liner paper, so now use lavender sachets. The like the ones from MaiTai quite a lot, they're very long lasting! I also buy lavender in the bulk section of my natural grocer, and use it to fill small draw string bags I get at The Container Store. Easy to toss and refill as the fragrance dissipates. I also love the Wool & Cashmere Spray from The Laundress (it's cedar scented) and have used it to spay the lovely thick, but no longer fragrant Hermes paper. Less successful were the scented card stock cards I bought from The Laundress a while back. They were meant to be put in drawers, and I found the scent so overwhelming I could not use them! frou frou, thanks for your suggestion regarding Santa Maria Novella, will look at their wax tablets. :flowers:

Julide, looking forward to seeing your new mousseline!

Very sweet of you, thank you! I feel the same of yours!

Lucky you, to visit the Hermesmatic! Sadly, I've not had one come nearby. Having seen pictures of the piles of pre-dipped to buy at the pop-ups, I've just wanted to jump into all that sumptuous fabric! Love dip dyes so much, hope you had fun!

Quadrige is one of my favorite designs! When the stole came out I only had 140 mousselines, and when I saw the Quadrige stole I was thinking of more traditional, wrap uses of a rectangular shape. :noggin: Not sure why I didn't think outside the box with the format at that point! I don't think I ever saw the CW you mentioned, I remember the design seeming scarce.

I keep trying to find the picture of it in this thread, but it was 2013. I think you are very right it was kind of scarce. Lanit is the only other person I have seen on here with one. Hers is the lovely cool minty green one.

Ok- here's my last catch up post for the day.

Since y'all have asked about washing, I decided to do a live action shoot with a couple of moussies. Jeux de Paille and Quadrige have been worn a lot recently and were looking a little rumpled and flat, so they got tagged. I can't say this is the right thing to do for everyone, but it is what I do and I am comfortable with. As always, YMMV, and you have to assess your own comfort levels with mousses and washing. I am relatively fearless with them. I would be a lot more afraid of washing cashmere for fear of accidental felting on a loose wool weave (but I'd still probably do it.)

a VERY wet pile of Quadrige. Note- the only reason I am comfortable with this being all piled up is because I know the dyes are stable in this. If I didn't know the dyes were stable (if there'd been lose dye in the bath for instance) we'd have had a real serious problem here.

AFter ironing. The hems are still a little damp

I washed my little 90cm , and Etoile, you where right about the pong, it really lingered. However when dry I was happy and wore it straight away.

My photos are not great, I had the scarf on some crumpled muslin so it makes everything look creased .
1 , an area before wash showing creasing and very crushed hems,
2 , same area after minimal ironing , hems so much better and surface fairly smooth .
3, over view after a wash.
My findings are thus :
The crisp texture before has been lost, the scarf is softer now which is fine by me.
The crumpled hems are much improved , I teased them and stretched them while drying.
The crepey lines started appearing as it dried so I spritzed and ironed , looks pretty smooth.
It took 15 minutes total including ironing, I could have spent longer .

You can see this is an old scarf and it has a pull or two which I knew about. I wore it with a Mors and it looked fine.

It still smelled a bit when wet after a wash and vinegar rinse ! Eventually dried odourless and it's marinating in a box with a wax tablet now.
My photos are rathe pathetic , and i don't know how to annotate each one.
First up , an area before wash showing creasing and very crushed hems,
Second , same area after minimal ironing , hems so much better and surface fairly smooth .
Third, over view after a wash.

Then I wore it to go out using a Mors ring, success!

Congrats! Those hems do look better now! I am missing seeing your third pic???

eta- I see it now. It looks FAB! Way to go!!!! It does have some of the same greens as mine, but lighter shaded earth tones, whereas your pale earth areas are very dark brown on mine. Like you said, a reverse of it.

Well done frou frou,it looks great! It seems to me that any texture changes from the original must be slight, and IMO well worth it.
