This mousseline has been on top of the HG list since I saw pictures of it on this thread years ago. Dear chestnutty kindly posted it on the Finds thread, and in spite of not the best pics or seller H experience I had to try. The shawl arrived in wonderful condition and even prettier than imagined. Tried it on immediately, in spite of "gardening hair" and no makeup....

The blues in this cw are incredible, congrats on your great find!

Again, thanks so much for your kind words. This pattern was my first GM ever, in cashmere from Paris,over 20 years ago. So it has a sentimental place in my heart.

Gorgeously stunning on you pierina- this is one of my most favorite moussies of all time- desert isle category for me. The colors are mesmerizing. Wear and enjoy in the best of health!

Thx Monceau! I loved this red the moment I cast my eyes on it & bought it. But then a dilemma set in. If H sells patterned & plain moussies at the same price, only fools would get the plain ones. I became unhappy.

Having decided to return the red H moussie, I actually ran to the local dept stores to try red moussies from other brands. Then I discovered why H doesn't do red moussies with much contrast. They are SO loud that even I, a bold color lover, don't want to wear. I came home & tried it on again. U can see the mod shot here. This is such a charming poppy color & it actually shows SOME contrast. I have decided to keep it but also get a second PdV which shows more contrast.

Not all of Hermes red mous is loud, I have several that are refined and subtle (Poesie Persanne, Tibet, La Danse)- it is difficult to compare any Hermes scarf to a competitor, actually.


Perhaps there will be more choices in red in the future. I hope they return to more colorful mous with contrasting hem (a la Danse du Cosmos in black) rather than so much changeant- it is nice to be able to see the design.

U understand me, toujours chic! I'd love to have a red H mousse with more contrast so u don't have to stare at it for >10s before u realize there IS a pattern. But at the moment, I will resign to just having the VERY beautiful color, material & workmanship. Let's hope H listens to us!
