Great! I'm glad it worked out for you. Did you have to pay for it? Why would they have an extra strap lying around? Wouldn't that leave that bag without a strap?
I think some people don't want the longer strap, so maybe they just left it there. Probably the same thing happens with dustbags.
No cost, they just gave it to me - isn't that great? I brought the bag in with the Macy's receipt just to make sure they knew I purchased it and also to compare the gold leather.
They had several straps at that location, but the other FS I called didn't have any. I asked about the extras and the SA mentioned that sometimes there are bags that have been damaged, so they just keep extra straps as replacements.
Dust bags are another story. I sometimes need to ask for dust bags for the boutique deletes. An SA once said that people sometimes purchase the bags, then return them without the dust bags, so they don't always have an extra as replacement for the subsequent customers. Not Coach's fault, of course, but very disappointing in other customers.
