I'm so sorry this happened, I can only imagine how disappointing this must be for you.
Yes, for newer ebay sellers (I think just for luxury items) they will send the funds to paypal but keep them in a state of hold status until the item has shown by the tracking that it was received and then they add another 3 days on to that before they release the funds. The date of 6/15 is probably just an estimate but she could get the funds sooner depending on how quickly you receive the item.
IMO I think you did the right thing. It's not right that the seller is expecting you to circumvent the process just so she doesn't have to play by the rules. The hold on the funds for newer sellers is there for a reason, ebay/paypal want to be sure that the seller completes the sale satisfactory before giving them their money.
Just an update for those who were offering suggestions for my buying dilemma w/ the seller who wanted their money IMMEDIATELY and was trying to skirt the rules by sending me an invoice outside of e-bay. The seller finally agreed to complete the sale through E-Bay/PP, but as it turned out, I was on vacation last week and wouldn't have been able to leave appropriate timely feedback (which would initiate the availability of my payment into her PP acct).
Alternatively, I asked if she could ship it to my work instead and my co-worker accepted it and gave it a good-once over for me, so I went online and left the seller positive FB so she could get access to her money and I FINALLY have one of my elusive HG bags in my possession (well sort, of, I won't actually see it till I return to work on Monday)......
No, it's not the Atlantic Lily (in my dreams), but still another HG for me nonetheless- it's the Legacy Purple Patent Peyton! I'm so excited to add it to my collection
